Title, I'm a bit confused. Cuz I think it's an essential feature for any good video player. Am I missing something or it really isn't implemented?

It also doesn't seem to be a feature on YouTube, so I don't think that's a standard shortcut for web players.

I'm not sure about the new HTML5 video player, but yeah it ain't part of the flash player. I don't think it was really a thing for them.

But if you are use the CR HLS Player (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/cr-hls-player/aeajdeepnjjdekpbicjhfldagkjndjid) plugin, this is a feature. Personally I can find it annoying, especially when you aren't in fullscreen and want to scroll down to the comments, the volume just gets lowered.

As eyeofpain mentioned, it's not part of YouTube, but with the Magic Actions plugin that is an option. Although I prefer the right click and the move left of right to change volume.

Yeah, it seem I get used to the Magic Action plugin. but it will be handy regardless to have a mouse shortcut to change the volume on the fly.
