Teen Vogue recently published a gift giving guide for those who have had an abortion ...fun times are here again! This teen gives a very effective response to this flippancy. With girls like this in the pro life movement and their care for women both before and after an abortion, the future for life is bright; with empty party tricks and "let's celebrate the abortion" ...well, Americans will continue moving in a pro life direction.

So who's right? Teen Vogue ...or Autumn?

should make it a poll, could be fun to see what the more silent users have to say.

I wonder when people will stop caring about what other people do to their own bodies.

Yes, I can understand abortion is a scary practice in many ways. I can understand if you think it is wrong or a necessity.

But what I don't understand is why people want to tell other people what they can and can't do. You are NOT them, and they are NOT you.

Now the best way to 'gift' someone who had an abortion is very similar to any traumatic experience. You stay mostly silent, but sincere. Maybe give a small hug to comfort them, but show some respect. For most people, it's not an easy decision, just like putting a family dog of 10+ years down.

(I'm pro-choice, because I believe that everyone wins. Those who need it done wins and those who don't want anything to do with it wins. I also just don't like people telling me or people that I care for that I can't do something; for some reason that I honestly don't care about.)

Okay, that is just....not right. I mean, I am adamantly pro-choice but that was bad and they should feel bad.

Why should we care?

...Because we are human. Should we care when a girl starves herself "because she is fat"? I think so.

In neither the article or Autumn's response is anyone told what to do with their body (their baby's body to be precise).

But if you abort, you can't eat the placenta...

We could give cards to kids that are born into or abandoned by families that do not want the child, instead, if that's any better.

If CPS does its job and the economy improves we'll hopefully not have to do that either. It's better than killing them.

I would think if they go though this, it'll be lifetime regret!

She would be thinking the years that kid could be and what their life would be like.

No.

I imagine that might sometimes happen, but I don't know why you would assume it was the usual case.

Have you known any women who you know have had abortions? Have they shared their thoughts about it with you?

I have known some of those women and some of them have shared their thoughts about it with me. None of them thought it was "nothing" but none of them had "lifetime regrets." It was a decision made seriously after some consideration and was not a choice they took lightly. But they decided it was the best option for them at the time, and moved on, and didn't regret.

In all honesty, I get the gift giving aspect...sort of. It is usually a traumatic experience, but in all honesty, this is celebrating it. Fucking why?
