it's been months, they've known about this since the beta back in November/December but have seemingly refused to do anything




Their reply back in December was just great. "The version of Android you are using is in Beta, that is why the app is not working". As if sticking their head in the sand and ignoring it would fix the issue. Nevermind that the way the ecosystem works is that the development platform is the base and the apps need to adapt to it. If a new Android releases breaks your app, you need to fix your app, not hope that Samsung or Google will make some change to the OS to fix the problem for you...

If i don't see any change by next week, I'm canceling my premium. There are FREE sites i can use with no commercials. I only paid for crunchyroll for its convenient features. I'm not paying for broken shit or to have to use some lesser proxy app (VRV) just to view my shows. This is inexcusable.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. CR let's you adjust video settings in the app, like this:



Which is what I was trying to say - VRV has no such settings, so I can't use it, since it apparently adjusts to my connection. I can't watch crap on higher settings and blow through all my mobile data. With the CR app, I leave it on "Low", and usually runs at 150mb per episode. 10 minutes of an episode on VRV was already 180mb.

Same issue, been going on for a month. Haven't been able to watch barley any shows.

I've had no problem with CR on my android up until last month when this started, I've tried everything. Yet still no response or fix from our lovely CR

i think CR took too long to fix this and to communicate with everyone with s7's. CR i think you should retro 2 momths for everyone who was affected.

It was not even an issue we have introduced. Samsung (and Sony) broke compatibility of the app. It took quite some effort and testing on our end to make it work again. Identifying the issue, addressing it, testing compatibility with dozens of devices, and getting approval by the Play store does take some time. It's not as trivial as you may think.

im assuming you work for CR shinryou? anyhow blaming others and then only now giving an explanation of what was going on after all this time? i think this info would have been more comforting weeks ago. good job on customer service.

I shared this information or parts of it several times on these forums in threads on the topic and also with those who wrote in about to our customer service ever since 7.0 was deployed as non-beta by Samsung. It was only then that it become apparent that Samsung failed to fix the issue on their end, unlike several other makers who deployed 7.0 before them (e.g. Google themselves, OnePlus, among others).

CR updated since I last posted in this thread. It can play videos now, but it buffers every five seconds, and then plays audio with no video playing. Other Video apps like Amazon Video, youtube, etc are playing well. It's just CR that isn't working correctly which breaks my heart.
