What do y'all think of this game? So far I like it a lot. Graphics are amazing, gameplay is robust, and I think the unusual but unique environment and atmosphere of the machine animals in this post apocalyptic setting is very intriguing. Can't critique the story yet since I just started but I hope it turns out great.

My copy hasn't arrived yet and I'm still at work, so I don't know yet. It looks promising though.

So, it's basically Assassins Creed with electric dinosaurs right?

It's on my radar. I'm not gonna buy it just yet.

The gathering and crafting elements are not really my cup of tea, and the character models (particularly the faces) are nightmare fuel in the cutscenes, but I do find a lot of the other elements intriguing. It was one of the many games this late winter/early spring I was really excited about but that I've cooled on as I've learned more about it. It's on my list of games to pick up when the price drops but that's about it.

So far, it feels like "The Witcher 3" with a slightly improved battle system. I've already shelved it, for the time being. It'll probably go into the list of "games I'll complete before the next generation of consoles come out" (whereas "The Witcher 3" was on the same list). It's not bad, it's just one of those games that are rather long-winded and there are other games that are on the top of my pile (especially after Friday).

Would you recommend buying it? I am a bit uncertain seeing as how Switch comes out on Friday. I should probably wait, but my inner voice is telling me to buy it anyway. ( ̄。 ̄)

For me it's a total buy. For the record I don't have it or a ps4 though lol. I've watched about 12 hours of it streamed on twitch, it looks fantastic. Haven't enjoyed watching a ps4 game this much since Uncharted 4.

I really enjoyed it! There's probably some stuff I missed, but I like it a lot overall and would totally recommend picking it up! There are some gripes to be had, though. Even on the lower difficulties, the flying enemies are just way too obnoxious. Aiming at them is hard enough without any sort of lock-on. Also the crafting and whatnot isn't really my speed, but I don't like crafting and resource management anyway. I just kinda sucked it up to enjoy the rest of the game. The game basically requires you to do it, though. There aren't any shortcuts like you might find in a game like Skyrim. You HAVE to keep up on the resources. But the plot's pretty intriguing, and the writing, while in no way award winning, is solid. I could see how some might find Aloy a bit on the bland side, but I like her. And the commentary in the game manages to be quite relevant and does bring a few fresh ideas to the table, despite the simplistic packaging.

I've enjoyed the game so far. The controls are quite responsive and like every game, you gotta kinda get used to attack patterns and all. The character face models are pretty washed out. In fact, I guess in general the graphics are kinda washed out, but it's not terrible. It reminds me of what Dragon's Dogma first had until Capcom redid the graphics.

Solid game. I'm fine with the crafting since items are actually quite plentiful, IMO. I fight the robots often, so I've had no problem with crafting or upgrades.

I bought my (physical) Limited Edtion when it came out, but i only started to play it just recently. Why now? I wanted to complete few other games in progress out of the way before i started this.

I have only played this about 10 hours or so and i gotta say, i'm impressed.

I'll post more after i played it some time. And just when i was getting started, i'm "forced" to go back Guerrilla's battlefields for some time. And ever greater, yet the hardest challenge remains...

It looks fun. Unfortunately, this fellow does not own a PS4. Yet. I want to snag a base model sometime, so I can play Nioh and Bloodborne.
