I used to.

I do less now just because I don't feel like that many shows are worth buying.

I also gave away most of my collection, because it was just taking up space. (I gave it away to my apartment building's library space, because I would rather have new people discover anime who don't know it yet, than deal with trying to sell it on Ebay, or drag it down to Book Off for only cents per disc).

Anime in North America is really cheap, compared to Japan. In Japan, it's ~6,000 yen (~$60) for about 2 episodes. Really. get over the whole price thing. As for American wings of Japanese companies that try to sell NA discs at Japanese prices... sometimes it happens. It's just not worth being resentful over, though.

Very little in life is worth a lot of resentment. Growing up means learning that, and you'll be happier once you do.

Usually I dont. Unless it's a series I'm crazy about. I'm not too much on collection value of shows myself.

Not very often. There was a period where I bought some anime, but I don't do it as often anymore. Some shows I make an exception for, but I have to many hobbies to focus specifically on anime. And really, if you're going to collect anime, you're either all in or not at all.

Not particularly. There's only been a small handful of series I've enjoyed enough to actually purchase. 4 series, to be exact.

I wouldn't say I collect them, but I do sometimes buy things, either because I really love it, or want to see it and can't seem to find it online, etc. Most of the series I have I bought 10 or more years ago. I tend to buy movies these days, because a lot of anime movies seems to have limited theatrical release and don't show up online, so I have to buy a disc if I want to see it.
As for prices, I'm just glad I don't live in Japan!

No, because I don't usually rewatch something I watched before except it's just there on the TV. This is true for TV shows & movies too...

YES, but it depends on various factors.
price, and if it's a series/anime i really like.
book off has amazing prices for manga and DVD's.
i prefer to spend my money on buying manga (yes, i am aware that you can read manga online
but i love having a physical copy.)

Only a few of the usual suspects that I would watch more than once or I know others would in the future. Movies, no tv shows. Otherwise its better to use the money for streaming.

only movies. there are a few series that I watch more then once but I don't tend to do that with the tv/player, I watch them online. as for movies, even those I only buy in small numbers because they usually go on when I want to go to sleep. there is a formula to the kind of movie you put on to go to bed you know. follow the formula!

Yep! Last time I've counted I just hit 120 anime with my Blu-rays to School Days (I hate it but it's fun to watch with friends) and 5 Centimeters Per Second coming in today. Mostly upgrading some DVD's to Blu-rays right now then I'm going to tackle Gundam once I'm done with that.

It always feels great when I can add a new show to the shelf and my growing collection fills me with a sense of pride whenever I browse though it. It's one of the few things I actually enjoy collecting and I'm happy to plop the money down for a hobby I enjoy so much.
