Actually if you're male ya might want to avoid doing that. Large intakes of soy increase estrogen production which can wreck havoc with male biology.

soy can also be bad for females - it supposedly causes hormonal imbalance or something.
most people probably won't mind the soy, except those allergic to it. of course, assuming the report is to be trusted
(there's a chance the report was made in conspiracy against Subway, but i'm not too sure how likely that is)

edit: then again, you'd need to eat a whole ton of soy in a short time to see any adverse effect. asians consume soy regularly with no noticeable side-effect.

It's soy, not mealworm or "meat byproduct" or something. It is probably actually better for you than if it was 100% chicken.

Unless you are alergic to soy this shouldn't even be a problem. Soy is pretty good for you so even if it's half Soy who the hell cares if the end product still tastes good?

If it turned out they were filling their chicken with something bad then I could see a problem. But making a report like this is just trying to throw mud at people for petty reasons.

and that is assuming the claim is even true.

Well, two problems: It's advertised as chicken and you can be sure they're charging you a price as if it was chicken. It's not "petty" at all to complain about deceptive advertising. Especially when it comes to something you're eating.

If your CR membership turned out to be 50% Mexican soap operas instead of anime it would not be "petty" for you to complain about it just because some people like Mexican soap operas. -.-

That's an urban myth essentially based on one bizarre case in particular and that dude was drinking 3 quarts a soy milk a day for 6 months.

Look at it this way: How many guys in Japanese anime have breasts? If regular soy consumption actually caused such a thing Japan would be a literal nation of futa instead of a figurative one. >.>

If that isn't intentionally misleading people they might just open the door on any company selling fraudulent goods on the premise of "close enough".

I've learned a highly advanced mechanism that detects fake or partially composted food and it goes something like this:

But I don't like mexican soap operas so I'd have a reason to complain. Part of my point was if you eat at Subway and eat their chicken then assumably you liked it well enough. So what's it matter what it was technically made of? As long as it doesn't kill me I'll eat wood shaving if someone can make it taste good. All that matters with food is it's taste and how it affects your body.

They can charge what they want for their food no matter how much chicken is in it so the argument that they are charging the "full chicken price" doesn't mean much.

Yes you can argue that at the very least they aren't being completely honest but again this isn't the case of the infamous "pink slime" meat or food being made from wood dust. Soy is a legitimate and healthy food and is recognized as an acceptable substitute for meat.

So basically if I tricked you into eating Soy all it would mean is "Oh no! I ate perfectly healthy fake meat instead of real meat" if you enjoyed it and aren't dying from it then what does it really matter in the end? Again besides just the technicality of false advertisement.

Also remember the legitimacy of the claim is arguable. Even if their chicken does contain some soy as a filler it may not be 50%.

Dihydrogen monoxide is also a main ingredient of urine. You should consider removing it from your diet.

And people that want chicken may not want soy or even have trouble digesting soy. "If you like it what does it matter what it's made of long as its technically edible" just is not a good enough argument. Nor should this be allowed to slide as a business practice as corporations are not exactly known for restraint when it comes to pushing the legal envelope.

As for eating wood shavings, well, chances are you probably are ( cellulose ).

It does mean much because we have a capitalist economy.

Well, that would depend on whether you just charged me $10 to trick me. Also, medically speaking I'm not suppose to eat soy, so I'd be kind of pissed that you tampered with my food. -.-

As for the home cooking. Making your own panini takes 5 minutes maximum. For me, that is as low energy as making a can of spaghetti os!

You're forgetting the amount of time one has to spend in a store shopping for the ingredients, not to mention the time spent in line behind the idiots who insist on all sorts of shit ( everything from pricing to freshness). But really I freely admit after a 11 or 12 hour shift I have just enough willpower and energy to tell a sandwich artist I want an veggie on flat bread or whatever ya know.

...Really putting all the time I spent in earning that Chef certification to work I know right.

Haha, the funny thing is... For me cooking relaxes me and energizes me. Put on some Epica, and cook a meal in the most metal of ways. Carefully and with precision.

Also, there are plenty of idiots at Subway now. Every time I eat there I think "That customer would have given me a hernia."
