I recently switched to a vertical mouse due to an elbow injury (that damn Bigfoot). So it got me wondering what pointing devices other humans are most comfortable using

I prefer using mouse, but I lose it sometimes and have to use the track pad.

I primarily try yelling at the computer or staring intently at what I want it to do. Since neither of these work without the respective hardware my fallback option is a mouse.

Ok I really only use a mouse but voice control has come a long way and one of these days I will get a chance to fool around with eye tracking.

I don't have the required hardware either, but I constantly find myself yelling at electronics anyway.

...and yeah, some of the new eye-tracking equipment is impressive.

Yelling at electronics always was an integral part of using them, only now the technology has advanced to a level where the machine may actually be able to react if what you want it to do is simple enough.

It's going to be interesting to see where this goes, technology that was purely the domain of science fiction a couple of years ago is starting to become a reality.

Which makes me ponder when we'll see the first implementation of gyroscope/accelerometer technology that runs a basic diagnostic when you hit your electronics as part of the universal troubleshooting ritual.
