Post Reply What 'phase' did you go through that makes you cringe?

I went through a phase were I used to wear colorful Dickies shorts.
They were huge and used to go past my knees.

What about you?

I was the guy who said he loved heavy metal, but only knew a little more Metallica than what was played on radio.

Back in middle school I decided to grow my hair out. I have a thin face, so people I didn't know would sometimes think that I was a girl. The first time I went to my best friend's house his dad thought I was a girl, and didn't figure out that I wasn't one for about a week. It was also super annoying to play sports with long hair. I wish I could go back and just cut it all off.

In middle school I was extremely awkward around girls. I was a good lookin' dude and in shape since I was into karate. A lot of girls thought I was cute but I avoided them and brushed them aside anytime a girl would confess their crush on me. I could've been a stud. Even my first year of High School a few girls asked me out but I was still a bit awkward. I broke out of that shell once I got my first job and started socializing more with the opposite sex.

Looking back on it now I'm thinking "WTF was wrong with me.?"

Ahhh, to be young and brainless.

Don't be like me. Explore the opposite sex and just have some good clean teenage fun. And it's not too late for karate or some form of martial arts, which is another great way to met girls. I know a few girls in my karate class liked me. One even came up to me and said she wanted to loose her virginity with me. And what did I do? I avoided her like a chump. And she was cute too.

No, no. You got it all wrong I'm a party guy here in my city and girls that I "hook up" with are party people too, I don't want a girl that parties and gets drunk. I'm trying to stop doing that stuff as well. Emma start taking Karate classes on Saturday instead of going out with friends and partying.

None sadly. I mean this because I have friends that discuss about some of their "cringy" phases in the past, and I am just so ever-curious to see how that would feel once it subsides. I kind of would like to feel the sense of astonishment.

I feel it would be something quite amusing.

I had chunnibyo in middle school. A certain anime about this condition is painful to watch as a result.

Then in high school, I turned into that guy from Flowers of Evil who pretended to like serious literature.
l was basically an edgelord and I would hang out in philosophy clubs in undergraduate college.
