First who is pressuring you Bf, spouse, doctor? you should never take something that is forced upon you
as far as birth control my experience back when i was much younger was very neg. side effects and all!
there are many options on the market just discuss this with your doctor
FYI- IUDs can be harmful as well, one of my close friends had to have a surgery after the damn plastic device
messed up here uterus she can no longer have children very serious so always read up on device.

doctor, my bf just wanted me to look into it. i dont trust iuds i wanted the patch since i could still have my periid but my doctor refused to talk about it for bs reasons and pressured me on the shot when i went back to her a week ago she said my mood should've mellowed out and I cried almost ever day since getting this shot my life is he'll

I already have decided I am not getting any more birth control my bf doesn't want me to either the shot contains a hormone that can cause your monthly cycle to stop and can take a long time to get back if you wish to have kids you're screwed this is my first experience with bc and hate it

Anything hormonal can be a rough go if you're sensitive to that sort of treatment. Though BC and shots are probably the worst in terms of the amount in your system as a whole I would.

Diaphragms. Got my list of "things women have to have shoved into them in a relationship" mixed up. -.-

I have a disorder that makes my emotions a bit more sensitive to things then others my doctor, with put telling me till I went back to talk to her, assumed it would mellow me out now I'm crying daily and in pain

I have nothing to support this but my gut is telling me that her doc is most likely being paid by the pharma company responsible for the birth control they're pushing on her. I've heard there are a lot of problems of that kinda stuff happening in some places.

Maybe it will settle down a bit; like your body might adjust? I don't really know. I haven't read up on birth control stuff in a long time, so I don't really know what's typical with the shot.

not even sure if she is an obgyn for sure or not since she does both family medicine and family planning. I had high anxiety and she assumed it would help but hasn't I have issues with doctors and that area, had a bad thing happen in the past, before I went in to talk to her on bc she kept lecturing me on it so I felt pressured there too

Yeah... don't wanna step on your toes or anything, but I think you should get a new doctor.

Mellow you out? ><

I've seen a lot surrounding hormonal birth control and it's possible links to depression/anxiety. But I have never heard of it being used for the opposite. Also, if you tell a doctor you are depressed or anxious "mellow out" is about as helpful as "cheer up!".

First of all, I do not know what your OBGYN was thinking when they started you on the depo shot. Generally they should start you on the oral tablets to see how you tolerate it so if they do go to the 3 month shot it doesn't do this and now you are stuck with the side effects.

In the meantime you may want to speak with them or find another prescriber...no scratch that, definitely find another prescriber. But speak with them about maybe getting an antidepressant, perhaps just until the depo shot leaves your system. There are several on the market.

Also, since birth control tablets are hormonal in nature if someone is not producing enough of a hormone they may be prescribed a birth control tablet to stabilize that.

I'm not happy with my doctor I realized I missed a red flag when I first got the shot bad sign when you go to talk about birth control and your doctor is more happy then you and says things like I'm so proud of you and I'm so happy you came in to get this

I can't take pills and I wanted the patch to try since I'm not too comfortable on bc I was thinking about asking my doctor about anything to stabilize my mood but I have had such a horrible expiernce with bc that this is the first and only time I'm taking anything at this point if I get knocked up I get knocked up and I don't want my doctor in my sex life anymore so I may look around for a new doctor

I feel really bad for you.... I think there are different kinds of birth control pills that you could use?

And also, there are many different ways to have sex with less risk of getting pregnant....

Why not use condoms instead?
