Are you nicer to people online or in real life?

I'd say that it's balanced. I stay nice with just about every person I know in real life and (almost) everyone I see on the internet.

About the same, pretty quiet/introverted in RL though so may come across as rude or disinterested at times

I'm pretty much the same.

But in IRL I might fumble my words. Online is all planned, so you just have to keep on your toes with me.

I settled down a bit though, because in all reality I'm a nice person, some people just don't seem to understand that especially when they can't seem to grasp my way of thinking. Like a couple conversation I've had online on these forums, I would actually sit across from people IRL and say the exact same thing.

We can have a good time, just learn to accept that some people (like myself) don't just accept anything they are told.

You can thank my mother and father for that, we speak the way we think , stubborn, thick skinned, and loyal, and God help you if I'm pissed off.

Irl, because I'm an asshole that just wants to get on people's good sides for my own convenience.

Although the few people that I am nice to online get better treatment than anyone irl by far.

I'm probably what you'd expect from someone that uses their name as an alias.

Probably treat online people bit more respectfully. Mostly because I find less bold retardation online than irl.

I'm largely the same in both but I do tend to call people on their shit more often online.

I'm probably meaner online because I run into way less idiots in real life. People are way more likely to out themselves as an idiot once you add them on facebook.

I try my best to be positive and respectful 24/7. So about the same.

People however tend to be nicer in real life because of the anonymity on the internet that allows them to do things without any direct consequences.

thats why the internet allows you to see someones true self imo

As a few other people have said, I think it's optimal having some kind of balance.

But, to answer the OP, I would actually say I'm about the same. It's hard to say, though. Ideally, I think people need to adjust their niceness according to the situation. And, when I say nice, I'm assuming it means not blunt in this context. In other words, niceness varies inversely to bluntness. And, bluntness does not necessarily equal being rude or disrespectful.

No matter where you are --- and I think this should include open forums on the internet --- you should always show some degree of respect to other posters, even if they have a different opinion or present information that is not factual.

I'm nicer online. I don't get to talk to people in real life anyways because I'm really shy. How could I act nice to someone when I can't even get the courage to initiate a conversation? Though I do act 'nice' to those I do talk to provided they are nice back.

good question never thought of them differently though it's easier for me to switch gears with a proper perspective for example a drunk in a bar is simple while as for pvp with no idea of their true age and possibly gender using common sense and evaluating takes more finesse
