Yes!

"Flash is like a wheel, it keeps things running so if it not broken why fix it? Yes, there are better media players but Flash might be used to let the bottom of the pyramid for CR's viewer base for a wider audience since not everyone on this planet called Earth has the latest hardware and software. Further tl;dr is step down yourself in tech if all you want to watch is anime, even tablets and smart phones work if you don't mind the size. "

Also try another browser.

I've been having issues with videos loading, running, while using Crunchy on Chrome for the past few weeks. I have to refresh the page multiple times to get the video to load, and even then it will slow as if trying to buffer, or will stop altogether, leading to another cycle of page refreshes to get it going again. Dropping to 720p sometimes helps a bit, but not much. Dropping to 480p helps more, but still there's an issue. I don't have the problem when using other streaming sites like Funimation.

I had been going on the assumption it was an issue I was personally having, or maybe even just traffic load on the site, but as I've said, it's unique to Crunchy on Chrome. It may not be a pure "flash" issue, but perhaps something in the background of one of Chrome's updates isn't playing so nicely with the rest of the ecosystem as it relates to Crunchy's player.

Do you use PayPal to pay for your account? Because one time recently I tried to upgrade my account to the Premium Plus account and it was telling me that I wasn't eligible for an upgrade at the time. I was confused because I wasn't trying to get a free trial again, just upgrade my account, so I contacted Crunchyroll about it. Through email the person told me that it was because I used PayPal to pay and would have to cancel the PayPal payment type and then set up the Premium Plus account. I'm on the three month plan.

http://www.pcworld.com/article/3120904/internet/flash-may-truly-be-dying-this-time-as-adobe-prepares-to-decommission-it.html

One of hundreds of articles proclaiming the death of flash by their on creator. So it functions. . .fantastic. It's outdated, unsafe, and technology is gonna keep moving. I could be running functional windows 95 on my box but I'm not that sentimental or stupid. Every content delivery site worth surviving is or already has moved to HTML5. It's going to go the way of geocities. Slow. . .very slow. . .and lingering until someone boot stomps the final breath from it. I applaud Google for phasing out its functionality and now killing it. That said, I am exceedingly annoyed that a site as popular and (IMHO) amazing is being held back by this antiquated and insecure fodder file format. HTML5 is quicker, leaner, more secure and more efficient. I like the fact that my laptop can play youtube content for 6 hours straight. This site however destroys my battery in 3-4. Flash. . . should. . .die. . . . . . . . .After cRoll gets their collective crap together on content delivery.

Back to the issue at hand. . .I am wondering if this is actually a Windows issue. I am using w10 Home on my desktop on a dual boot with Linux. The linux site runs fine, same with my laptop that runs linux. Both are Mint but desktop is running Plasma no issues and the laptop is running Cinnamon no issues.

UPDATE

Tried Vivaldi browser, same issue. will not play any videos. On a separate note, I think I am really starting to like it, great recommend on that. I have (against my better judgement) install the latest flash and enabled updating. . .NOTHING. still no function. I am a bit lost here.

I'm also running Windows 10 and am having no issues whatsoever. Have you tried the CR app?

Also, CR have an HTML5 player in Beta testing for Premium+ accounts so I suspect, no matter how much you complain, the answer's going to be "we're beta-testing our HTML5 player as we speak, wait on that".

no i pay from my debit. recently i tried using my cellphone app and it seems like it'll work but i just need to again, put money on my account, so let's see how this goes, it seems the problem is always with the desktop version because this is not the first time it happens.

Also using Chrome on Windows 10 with no problems. Chrome still supports Flash just fine, but I believe it's turned off by default now.

- Adobe Flash isn't working
- https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/6258784?hl=en

If Adobe Flash isn't working or you see the following error messages, try the troubleshooting steps below.

Step 1: Turn on Adobe Flash Player

1) On your computer, open Chrome.
2) In the address bar at the top, enter chrome://plugins and press Enter.
3) Under "Adobe Flash Player," click Enable.

Continued use of Flash is one of the limitations on this site... the other one is the lack of a secure connection. By now, CR really should be logged in by going to https://www.crunchyroll.com. This second issue is starting to become an issue in latest versions of Firefox...

I'm not going to read through this massive thread, so if i missed something, i apologize.

Chrome does not have a flash issue with crunchyroll right now. I know that as a fact, so it's definitely on your end. I would recommend first making sure your updates downloaded properly. a corrupted file or bad file path could cause an issue.

Once you know chrome is fine, try checking your extensions. This is almost always the reason people have problems with chrome. Extensions can cause very weird problems, so make sure you check all of them, even the ones that have nothing to do with flash or video.

if this doesnt work, try uninstalling and reinstalling chrome (restart your computer afterward, just to be safe).

after that I have another, more complex fix, but it takes some walking through. so try the others first

If people are having trouble with Chrome (at least recently) I feel it's because a lot of semi-popular anime have come out right now and are overloading the servers some days, in particular the weekends. It almost seems to come from series being heavily watched like Dragon Ball Super on those days, etc. I once had issues way back when because of Sword Art Online II's release last year or the year before. At those times I couldn't see the episodes even a week after airing because the servers literally died from too many people accessing them.

I'm glad that I don't use Chrome.
I use Firefox and Pale Moon. Flash is honestly only useful for playing games nowadays.
