For me i would like to see Human genetic modification become something that is common.

Also life expectencies to rise to above 100 years (80 atm) which is likely to happen due to Cellular regeneration research and genetic modification and the current work on a cure for Ageing.

I want to see robot's replace most of human jobs which is what i am studying to work as programmer then going onto being an engineer.

All these things i wish to see and will most likely witness what do you want to see that you will most likely get to see!

How about robots taking your engineering job before you could get to be one?

First, fub level circuit designers (already happening), then the cell-level people, then the DEs, then the architects and finally those darn VPs and CEOs would be taken over by expert systems too

Edit: not that I want to see it happen- just seeing what the OP wrote

That will happen eventually yes and honestly if it does then i am all for it if a robot can do it better then i then the robot should do the job.

Needless to say the knowledge is still useful and nice to know.

That would happen far before "death is cured" or any means is found for anyone to "live to hundreds", as stated in another thread.

If your aspirations in engineering is to make engineers obsolete, then I'd suggest another line of work because you may not get to do it yourself. Chances are you would end up on the wrong end of obsolescence. It's too late for you to get in the "make things obsolete" game.

Not necessarily there is nothing to say we have to make AI and Robots before we cure ageing.
It's never to late for anyone to be a part of making society more and more Automated we are all cogs even the little things we do have impact.

I'm going into programming first as it's my own interests and i want to help even in the smallest way to nudge towards a society where Automation and AI does everything for us one day.

Aging with grace is beautiful. Nothing ugly about being old.

What I'm saying that you'd get retired by it before you'd have a chance.

Many people in my field are actively telling their kids to NOT go into STEM.

That doesn't matter to me the information i learnt is still valuable to me personally.
I'm becoming a programmer no matter what there is no other job for me i am willing to work or can work
I start university at the end of the year for my diploma.

The only things outside of technology are physical stuff and i do not have the health or body for any of that nonsense technology is where i am capable.

There is nothing outside of STEM worth doing i would rather stay unemployed then ever be a shop cashier or an office worker or working in fast food ever again personally

If I could start over I would've went to pharmacist school.

Heck I didn't need to work my tail off on an engineering degree.......

You have any idea how much a pharmacist could make?
