Depends on the voice actors and the studio. Pokémon was the best until the 4Kids contract ran out.
I prefer SUB over DUB...

It depends on the setting. If it's Europe or America then usually the dubs have better voices more fitting the setting. I think it has to do with voice pitches. Japanese VO's really like to do pitches that are higher in sound than natural in English. It's something I've noticed with English and Chinese as well as a bilingual person, generally words are higher pitch in Chinese.

It depends on which anime. I really enjoyed FMA and Pokemon dubbed.

In certain circumstances (Like a really good Anime like a 10/10 Anime) it is ok but most of the time in my opinion it is bad so I just watch subbed!

if it a long series with 100+ episodes like gintama, dragon ball z ,or one piece I probably listen to the dub first

Yeah, I do like it. Though I prefer subbed. It just sounds more natural to me.

I honestly forgot I made this. I don't like Dub. In my opinion, it rarely comes out well and can ruin a shows reputation for a long time(4Kids ruined One Piece's reputation in USA among people who don't regularly watch anime). Some shows are fine, such as the original FMA dub (which is how I watched the show) but those are few and far between.

Of course, though the worst voice acting I heard was from Pokemon: Diamond & Pearl. People who have intolerance of decent English dubs have tin ears.

Usually I do prefer dubs.
I can't think of any really terrible dubbed anime I've watched. In many cases I think the dub actually improves the show, like Kuroshitsuji for example, the characters were improved having British accents. I also prefer both of the DBZ dubs to the original (We had the Ocean dub for most of the series).
In all honestly, I don't find Japanese all that pleasant to listen to so if I have a choice I'll nearly always choose the dub.

Only if it says as close as possible to the original Japanese version when it comes to story and the acting is at leased decent. I hate dubs to butcher the original version like the original DiC dub of Sailor Moon (even though it was part of my childhood)

When I was a kid, I used to watch the english dub of pokemon on tv, and I really liked it. I think it depends on the dub and the VAs; sometimes they can really change the feel of the show

I mainly watch dubbed anime, simply because I am lazy and find it easier not having to read subtitles as well as focusing on the animation. If an anime hasn't been dubbed I don't mind watching the Japanese version.
