Not going to bother. Wonder how they are deeming it fake news, or if it is more political agenda news.

This is a good thing. honestly theres a lot of just fake stuff that people will believe on facebook. its not all political either, although alot of it is politically charged. for example 3 weeks ago a Far Right-wing site claimed Colin Kaepernick was cut from the 49ers because Scamahan didnt like the Kneeing during the anthem.

Obviously i, being a big NFL fan knew this was completely false, as my phone would've had 100s of notifications from ESPN, BR, NFL Twitter ETC, but my right wing friends who could care less about the NFL believed it and started sharing it everywhere, thus fake news being spread around. now something like that wouldn't matter too much in the grand scheme of things, but it shows how easily people will believe anything if the news is good news for them

so yeah i love this new feature. as long as it gets fake new like i stated above, not just stuff people politically disagrees with. and im certain this feature will be abused at the start, but im sure it will be fine as time goes on and adjustments are made

Good.
I remember in my ultra conservative days I was a follower of page that reported that the Obamas had kidnapped their daughters from a family in the Congo.

Sorry but Snopes doesn't have the rights or credibility to fact check anything. This fake news crusade is just that, a crusade. There's a lot of fake news and there always has been (tabloids) - and then some of those tabloids turn out to be real a couple years down the road, and everyone forgets that someone like the enquirer reported it first.

It's a bunch of bullshit, and to be honest Zuckerberg or Gates or any of those jackasses have no right to CHOOSE what I'm exposed to. I'll make up my own mind based on what I hear from different sources, like I always have. They're going to be the downfall of their own platforms, because of this crap.

Fact checkers huh, with journalistic integrity at an all time low and lazy journalism at an all time high, you'd think this would be a good thing, but when the people they turn to to "fact check" base it solely on the official, public, "take my word for it" story, it isn't worth a damn. I'm an adult thanks - I don't need my hand held, and to be blunt about it, the mainstream has been caught in so many lies this past year it's absurd that they think just not mentioning it is enough to make people forget. It may be enough for some, but the people who actually give a damn and invest time in finding out the real story aren't going to be fooled for a second by a label like "fake news" - the real fake news is usually pretty obvious.

My facebook and twitter streams have been censored for at least a month, quite likely several months, based on what I link to and whether it aligns with conservative or liberal values - and that isn't right. I've confirmed as much by analyzing what material I type and create myself and it's views and comments, versus anything I link to that is inconvenient for the old establishment. There's a very clear, distinct difference in the amount of people who see the material.

For those that indulge yourselves in Facebook news; I am convinced you're closet masochists.

If you read the article and look into the topic you will, in fact, be told a lot yes. Simply being dismissive and seizing on a single part of it doesn't accomplish anything except further promoting the very problem being addressed.

Not for long. It's definitely on it's way out, at least it's on it's way out for me. I can find cat pictures elsewhere.

The problem is that FaceBook will only go after sources that they consider to be fake, which is basically censorship.

what if someone reports snopes as being fake news? lel

given how some of us are already tired of politics bs, maybe they should make an option to ignore politics so it doesn't come to your news feed. (maybe there already is such an option, haven't used fb in a long while)
