How do you handle a mod that's acting like a child?

I feel like trying something new.
What would you do?

Candy? Perhaps a spanking?

I don't really like dealing with children - whether they're a child physically or just psychologically. I'd probably ignore them, which is basically my go-to response for anything that irritates me.

They almost always have higher ups, in which case notify them with screenshots. This worked well in Tera Online with a Game Master Named SirBeefWellington. If they are the higher ups, leave the game, or go on a defamation if it is on Steam or something.

You report them if their bizarre behavior gets carried away, which would surely get their moderator status revoked. Even the hall monitor has to answer to authority.

Honestly I had a mod inbox me by the name of Makado something.. I got banned first for 1000 years then he changed it to 10 then he EVENTUALY changed it to 1 month. Now it says temporary ban, right..so I contacted crunchyroll (they dont have a costumer service number). I wrote them an email with screenshots of the inbox messages from Makado & they responded right away saying how they are going to ticket the request.

A couple days later (more-so about a week later) I get an email from crunchyroll saying they processed the ticket and it then asked me how I felt like the service was handled.

THAT WAS IT, from there on out I was back on crunchyroll a month later after my ban got lifted and then the next day I was banned again -This time for no reason (never recieved a inbox message as to why) & it was a temp ban of 10 years. Serioulsy, I just ended up making a new account. Its anoyying how some mod's are children & dont get in trouble for the basicaly pediment ban

Hmm.. are you by any chance the user formerly known as 100pe? That's the only one that rings a bell for your description of events, so assuming that's the case, as I told you at the time, your account suddenly went on a rampage, and I banned you for 1000 years to just put a stop to it - it's kind of standard just in case your account was hacked or something so that a hacked user doesn't get in further trouble for posting child porn or something else that a hacker might do. Then that didn't take because of some server issue, and you continued on the rampage, including how you were banned but still posting, so I edited it down to 10 years to see if that would take after the server had its hiccup. After we talked, I edited it to a month because apparently you weren't hacked, you were just spamming and derailing and such.

Now, if you'd talked with me when the ban didn't disappear, I could've looked up your account (as I just did after seeing this) and noticed that for some reason - probably related to those earlier server issues - your old account was banned for that 10 year period again. Since it was a server hiccup that caused it, no wonder you didn't get a message about it. I could've lifted it then, but since you've gone ahead and made a new account, I'll go ahead and remove your old one, since alt accounts aren't really allowed.

I wanted an idiot to show up first so I could use them to draw you out but here you are.
Can you say something about preferring to resolve things through PMs and then unblock me so I can absorb your soul already?

The entire point of this thread was to draw me out? Interesting.

Yes, in general I prefer to resolve things through PM when possible. After all, not everything needs to be aired in public, and it's easier to get details hammered out in a back and forth conversation without others jumping in - though if someone else brings things up in the forum, like eggrollsama above, that's their decision. Even then I wouldn't have replied if someone hadn't reported it, since I tend to avoid these sorts of threads.

That said, some people abuse the PM system to get mods to do things. The cost of your self-requested ban was a block, since I'm not amused by such antics. Sorry if the one minute the ban lasted didn't satisfy. Maybe try another mod.

Actually my plan was to roast alister until you showed up, it was part of the original plan related to the original PM I sent you when I said "you'd know when it happens". Then I'd start the era of Sir_Jamesasaurus.
This still leaves two question unanswered:
Given these three points
1. You offered the ban first and I accepted on my terms.
2. The situation I wanted is something I was able to and was willing to force but instead asked politely.
3. You have in the past said something to the effect of you tend to avoid conflict.

Why, when I still thanked you for delivering a year overdue did you decide to give me attitude right before blocking me?
And Why didn't you err to the side of generosity when you did deliver? I asked for a day, you gave me less than half an hour at most (I wasn't online at the time).

This is probably the worst way to deal with it.

On one hand you have a thread that tackles the issue of online stalkers on CR, on the other is a person who made a thread to "draw out" a mod because..whatever the hell it is you wanted to prove. Looking at your reply to the mod, one has to wonder "have you tried talking to a therapist about your emotional problems?" I can imagine how a disturbed teen would actually plan out something this petty and go through with it but not an adult (I'm assuming you are of age?) Consider getting help or at the very least, do some introspection and I mean that with the best of intentions, not to insult you.

I understand that some people have an addiction to online drama but you're taking it a bit too far with this thread. I really meant it when I said that this is not the best way to deal with this specific situation. It accomplishes nothing but draw out your personal drama (that only you care about) into the public space. Although I felt contempt for the guy who was throwing veiled threats my way via PM, I also made the thread with the intention of opening the topic of online stalkers on CR. Far too often, people that end up on the recieving end of the harassment remain quiet and feel helpless, and the problem remains unresolved and ignored.

Take it easy and maybe stay away from the internet for a bit. It seems like it's really taking a toll on your mental health.

Never been in a situation where I have perceived a moderator as childish. Not impartial yes, but childish? Never.

Everything you just said applies to you, not only in this post but also in the link to your failed witchhunt (which was closed for obvious reasons).
And this line is an excellent example of why you're not only a poor fit for you job on a personal level and pretending to know what you're talking about a grossly irresponsible way to act defensive.

I've had training and experience counseling mentally/emotionally disturbed patients but I'm not exactly on duty so I'm free to break character. In my workplace, I get all sorts of threats from physical to calling the State/lawyer although not as often as some but I always take the high road / professional approach every time. But again, I'm not on duty.

Speaking to you further will only derail the thread.
