Would you pull up stakes and go to a different place if it meant making more money?

The answer for me is yes. In fact, that's what I've been preoccupied with for the past week.

How much money would it take to get you to say goodbye to your hometown?

Depends entirely on the place and the paygrade. If it's a rural/suburban area I'd move for 60-100k, in a crazy urban hub like DC or Atlanta I'd want a good 100k more to for the bother of home prices and traffic.

If the job is interesting enough, hell yeah I'd move. I haven't lived in my hometown since going into the military anyway, so there's no particular attachment to one spot.

Yes. I've done this about 4-5 times now and don't regret it. I'm not one to have attachments to places.

if it was a good enough job and well paying enough i guess i would though i am pretty attached to the home I've lived in for the last pretty much 24 years so it would have to be a almost perfect job to me

That depends on the job and the new location.

I used to live in a small town before moving to NY. I don't think I'd ever move back to a small town (at least not until I retire, maybe) but I wouldn't mind moving to a different city for the right amount of money. Places like San Fran offers higher rates for people in my line of work but I don't think I care enough for that place to move. I've been there once but I find it to be quite boring in comparison with where I'm at.

I thought about maybe just buying a home on the outskirts of NY like LI or maybe Staten Island, or even NJ because it's generally cheaper, has lower crime rates, better parking situation than Queens or Brooklyn.

Left my hometown when I was 18 and I've only been back once in the years since. In terms of would I relocate for more money, it would depend on the cost of living in the area and whatnot. I'd prefer to live on the west coast, but I may not make much more than I do now and everything is crazy expensive compared to Atlanta.

I have already left my hometown. I hated it there. The only reason I ever go back is to visit family. No amount of money would be enough for me to go back.

Currently? I would not relocate since I am in college and have to finish first.

In the future I might, but it would have to be a lot to make me leave the area I am am/near.

Don't come to Miami. It's not as glorious as you see on TV. Most of it is poor & crime infested. I work in Miami but would never live there.

The city is so weird. One block you're in the high life right down the road from a meth house.
