i would say that their is a reasonable reason to have a low opinion of places where such superstitious medicine is normal to be considered full of idiots who still think tiger testicles or rhino horns or shark fins will provide some sort of magical benefit and those people are willing to mess up entire ecosystems just because of their idiocy. i also hope the person and any accomplices get the biggest punishment possible and i feel in many places pouching is handled to lightly.

No.

Rhinos scare little boys
Assassinating parents doesn't bring them much joy.

Seems like poachers have invoked their own death warrant, since they are effectively killing protected/endangered species trapped in enclosures, whether caged in a zoo, or fenced into preservation 'habitats', those are property they are trespassing on while carrying weapons.

It pretty much makes themselves fair game with no legal recourse or right to complaint in many countries where "armed trespass" grants the property owner rights to defend said property through armed means.

I'm not advocating killing of humans, I'm advocating right to life of endangered species.

I will say that poaching endangered animals is the cowardly act of gutless scum,
and that 'big game hunting', while legal in itself, is a crutch for weaklings seeking self-aggrandisement.
It represents a vain attempt to fill a void in their empty meaningless lives, sometimes as a pseudo-sexualised thrill-seeking activity, since normal stuff no longer excites them. Game hunting preserves aren't charging them enough money, frankly.

You think the right to carry a gun makes you powerful? It just makes you dangerous enough to make the government willing to shoot any and all citizens on sight, just in case they are 'carrying', but also as a handy excuse to shoot minorities/profiled targets for petty infringements or suspected actions, as a means of fear and control. Don't worry if you weren't actually carrying at the time, the police can usually 'find' a weapon on your body in time for the hearing.

Sorry, went off on a bit of a tangent there, but it's still related to an imbalance of power between shooter and victim, and how 'gun rights' actually give more control to the government than to the public. (& more money to the gun lobby).

Responsible gun ownership is great ... If only there was more of it.
Armed services need it, Farmers & Families near wildlife parks need it for culling & self-defence...
Cases for legitimate gun ownership and use can certainly be made,
but having everyone on the street carrying is a recipe for negative population growth, mainly as victims of untrained gun users, and overzealous law enforcement.

We should start poaching the poachers. I hear Rosie O' Donald pays a pretty penny for poacher horns.

Pretty sure they do get hunted down

This rusty type 56 was dropped by some poachers when they got raided by poacher hunters in Mozambique
And the sucker still fires, although I imagine its more like a bolt action now
