This looks like it 's going to be very beautiful, even with a TV budget. Now to play the waiting game.

Saw it today in my local theater, and there was even a poster up on the outside with alongside mainstream posters like Spiderman and Transformers. It was kinda neat. A few years ago I would never have expected to see anime in movie theaters.

I was kinda hoping there would be some freebies, like a movie poster or something. I guess I've been spoiled by other companies' past releases. Just something to consider, CR hint hint

Really liked the episodes. The animation was lovely. Noticed that the translation used 'sorcery' while the manga used 'alchemy'; I think 'alchemy' sounds better.
I'm sad now that I will have to wait a while until episode 4 comes out.

Saw it in theaters.
It had a lot more of a Ghibli feel than I was expecting, but it definitely fits the story.
Having read the manga, it was definitely a good adaptation so far.

Came back from the Anime Movie Night screening tonight. Having gotten to Volume 4, going in with some pretty high expectations, I gotta say: those expectations were still surpassed. I feel like they just nailed the (IMO) almost two-faced nature of this story, something I'm curious about when they get to Volume 3. The animation is BREATHTAKING, as I suspected it would be- even better on a big screen, too! There's even some moments from the manga I feel were even further improved upon here (the way they executed Chapter 3's 'flying' sequence was ultimate perfection).

The sad part is that one of the standouts is the soundtrack- it might eventually grow to become one of my favorites in anime- but chances are there won't be any tracks online until at least the show's October release. Patience is a virtue, I suppose.

Short note: it's TOTALLY going to be worth the October wait. If they get the rest of the series as well-done as that 3-episode screening, this might even turn into one of the best animes to come out this decade.

I also went to the theaters to watch this, as well as the sneak peak of Children of Ether. So far, it has been really impressive as it captures the manga pretty nicely. The show's atmosphere has some pretty noticeable differences between each episode, but overall theme is self-discovery. Since I'm not allowed to openly discuss this until it begins airing that some of my thoughts in spoiler tags.

Just got home from watching this at my local theater. Was everything I hoped it would be. Very beautiful!! A true feast for the eyes. Was even a bit educational. I bet a lot of guys who watched these episodes learned a lot on what to do when going out and getting a wife (step 1: give her a nice pat on the head. step 2: give her a nice bath. Step 3: give her a nice collar and a bell in case she wanders off into the forest late at night.....LOL j/k).

If I had to complain about anything it was having to sit thru that "Children of Ether" promo thing at the beginning. Was hoping they'd wait until the end to show that so me and my buddies could just get up and leave if we didn't want to stay and see it, but it looks like CR and the other powers that be figured a lot of other people would do the same if they did that, so they showed that first, effectively "trapping" people into watching it. But yeah I had a feeling they'd do it like that. Oh well, it was still plenty worth it to see those first three episodes of Mahoutsukai.
