I always admire the people that cosplay to conventions, looks like a ton of effort but also a lot of fun.

I've done fancy dress for parties (sometimes home made) but nothing high enough quality to be classed as cosplay

I have never cosplayed before, but I think it would be fun to one day.

I've cosplayed several times for Halloween and a couple of small cons: Banjo from Banjo-Kazooie, Julie from Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Lil' Bat (The Mascot of The Aquabats!) and most recently Agent 3 from Splatoon (http://dragonkazooie89.deviantart.com/art/Agent-3-Reporting-for-Duty-632280972). I may work on a new one if I go to Salt Lake Comic Con again.

Yes. It's actually fun. But I also miss taking photos of the other cosplayers (the downside of it) T_T

I would love to, but I don't have any skills for making costumes, and buying handmade costumes is expensive.

Yes I have, several dozen in fact. My personal favourites though were Spike from Cowboy Bebop, Edward from FMA, Squall from FF8, Cloud from FF7, Lord Yupa from Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, and Tombo from Kiki's Delivery Service.

So long ago it might even precede a time before your parents were old enough to be adults (aka 1966). Not anime, basically a background character performing a parody of The Mikado on stage before a live audience (what ? you paid real $$ to watch this!??).
