New Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World (Kino's Journey) anime project announced!

Plot Summary

Destination is a state of mind. A tale of one girl and her bike and the road ahead. Kino wanders around the world on the back of Hermes, her unusual, anthropomorphic motorcycle, only staying in each country for three days. During their adventures, they find happiness, sadness, pain, decadence, violence, beauty, and wisdom. But through it all, they never lose their sense of freedom. They discover that because of the world's imperfections, it is actually a thing of beauty. "The world is not beautiful, therefore it is."

Very excited for this. Been following the novel and seen the previous anime but after all these years...it's getting a new anime project? Hype!

It has been quite a long time since this show aired, and I'm surprised that it's getting a new season, but nevertheless it's great to have more coming. What will be interesting to see is what studio will do this as studio that did the original series hasn't done anything in terms of being the main studio. I'm guessing that it will either be Shaft or J.C. Staff seeing that Shaft did the movie, while the studio's last project was in collaboration with JC. In any case, this is an amazing show to watch, and seeing it get a sequel after all this time, I wasn't expecting it.

This was one of the few shows that helped get me back into anime. It's like seeing an old friend return.

Oh my lanta. 14 years later.... I never thought I'd see the day.

Now, if only someone would rescue the novels...

The character design looks different but this should be interesting to watch.

I'm looking at the staff and I fear this won't be as good as the first. The first is in my top 10, so I'll have to see how they do with this new season.

Director of Twin Star Exorcists Lerche has done some good stuff though, so we can hope.

I wasn't expecting it to come to Crunchyroll since Sentai has the first season and they probably were going to get the second season and then put it on Anime Strike for the US and HIDIVE for the rest of the countries they serve. In any case, it's great to see that they have the sequel as this is one of the most hidden of gems.

Just so we're clear, is it a sequel or a remake?
