Not really a fan of those designs. I how they keep the muted colors and other artistic choices from the first series.

Kino certainly looks much older in this as opposed to the first series. Then again, she is supposed to have aged.

Same. The key visual looks a little bit too bright for the series. If there was ever a series that made sense to feel washed out it would be Kino.

Also it would be nice if they could decide what color Kino's coat will be, it's Black in the Novels, Green in the first anime, Black in one ad copy, and Green again in the key visual picture. Perhaps it's petty but it bugs me

Kino is always described as being "15 or so" in the novels, even though several years have clearly passed since she started traveling (She's forced to hunker down in one particular country for a winter for instance). She looks a lot like the more recent light novel covers, which isn't exactly something I'm jumping up and down for. I liked the design of Kino in the original series in part because she looked as deliberately neutral as she tried to be.

The real key will always be the series when it actually comes out, and what stories they adapt. Judging by Ti's presence I assume we're going to get "The ship country", and The Master is there with the handsome man so they'll probably do the story about how the two of them met (Land with an Elder). I'm hoping we get an adaptation of some of the really good stories, I'd love to see "A Land without Borders" or "The Land Permitting Murder" or "Land of Heroes" or "A Land with History"

Coming 10/6 so according to that.
It looks beautiful... this is a series that really can take full advantage of everything CGI has to offer. I don't like that they went for the moe/cute-anime-girl look with Kino, but i'll forget about that once it starts. The original show was downright ugly, which was its major drawback for me. Something about adventures to far away lands needs to look impressive it can't be flat and have such ugly characters. It doesn't look to be as dark as the original either... and please I hope that dog doesn't talk.

Seems decent in design, but I worry how we will mistake apathy or a lack of moral regard as tolerance. Tolerance doesn't exist where there is no moral judgement had, much less said.

Well, given the nature of the first season, I'm not exactly sure what it will be if it is a sequel or a remake. The format of the first Kino's Journey series has Kino traveling around and visiting each place for an episode or two, and then moving onto the next destination once she realizes what kind of place she is at. And one episode is spent explaining Kino's upbringing and how she became a traveler. There really is not much of a story to speak of as it's episodic by design. Anyway, it will be interesting to see what this brings to the table as there could very well be a story that accumulates this time around or not.
