To be fair, humanity as a species are learning. War is declining and we've come up with legitimate solutions for plenty of major world issues (main problems are getting everyone together to accomplish them or if we even can accomplish them before the shortage of every major resource). However I believe that individually, humanity is deeply flawed. This idea of society that we've created has made us selfish and live only for ourselves. We constantly look to others for fulfillment, are unable to critically view ourselves, and have become slaves to paper. There are exceptions though. It doesn't help that humanity believes that it's special and will live forever.

I think we're ok, there's generally more good than bad out there and while we still have wars it's really only a select few that are driving the masses to do so, so I find it hard to fault most of them.

I used to believe humanity would prevail over inhumanity. Lately, I'm just not so sure.

I guess both? Both are good answers

How so?

We are creating new technology, discovering new things. At the same time wars are going on, along with poverty, discrimination, and other things.

None of that is new. All of that is history repeating itself. Just in different ways, including technology.

Right......maybe we can start living in whales too.

For the original question, humanity could be good. But we destroy whatever we touch. We cause extinctions, pollute the atmosphere, kill our own for monumentally stupid reasons from religion to selfish needs to expand businesses.

It's not a stretch to say we will ruin this planet if we continue on this course we are on.

Religious bigotry. Not cool. Consider yourself reported. You just mocked the very basic, cross-denominational, fundamental belief of Christianity. Everyone from Mormons to WBC to Catholics like myself hold it as the core belief of our religion. Congrats.

We disintegrate only to be born anew in the Jungian sense. The good will become better as people; the evil will become even more depraved and wicked until they cross over.

We have so much potential but are constantly held back by fighting among ourselves, if all countries / people worked together and were more open minded (in an idealistic world ofcourse) I think that we'd develop at a much faster rate and achieve a future that would be better for everyone

We're just waiting for something like god or science to save us from ourselves and life itself.

i feel like humans dont care about one another, and we will die off. with this conservatism movement happening on the planet where everyone wants to age themselves in their countries, and our willingness to destroy our environment just for a quick buck, its obvious that we don care about the tomorrow. just the right now

we're screwing ourselves. but hey at least we'll live a full healthy rich life. who cares about our children. i only care about NOW!
