So i haven't seen madoka magica in a while and decided to re watch it and the movies on Netflix. Was watching episode 4 today and a notification from Netflix popped up saying this video is only available till march 26 i think is the date it said. Does anyone know if this is true since i cant get that message to appear again to make sure. This would suck since i would need to buy the whole series and movies which are going for about $100+

Yes, Netflix is going to lose Madoka on March 29th as well as Sword Art Online on the 15th. As far as the movies/Rebellion are concerned I think they should stick around for a while longer.

Both series are also available here (and dubbed iirc), so unless there was a real special reason to use Netflix to watch Madoka you should be okay.

Its part of netfilx, they didn't loose the rights they always do this with anime.

Before they had Blood + , welcome to NHK, they bring back anime then get rid of it. Same goes for movies.

It was bound to happen. Titles continually come and go on Netflix, then back again.

It's worth noting that it's not available everywhere. Certainly not in the UK.

Not surprised really. Netfix lost Full metal alchemist rights then it showed up here on Crunchy. Alot of companies are doing that lately.

The main benefits of watching anime on NF is full HD without lower bitrate (ala CR ) and 5.1 DD audio when available . Also , they usually have the extras (scenes or OVAs) that aren't available to Cr or streaming sites . Knights of Sidonia is a good example . Season 2 had the 5.1 audio and the extended ending on the season finale . It was cut short on the broadcast version . Plus , CR doesn't go for the uncensored versions or when they are rereleased in HD . The only title I'm aware of is Toradora , but that was due to the license holder , not CR .

I really hope that if NF loses the rights to the Madoka movies, CR will pick them up. I actually preferred them over the TV series, mostly due to the improved animation. (Can't say I liked Rebellion very much though...)
