Anyone else get emotionally attached to the anime (or other shows) they watch, and get really depressed afterwards for like a day or two? Or is this just me?

Example: I just finished "The Pet Girl of Sakurasou" and loved it but I'm really sad there is no more to it also I'm just sad I can't watch the characters develop anymore I actually grew attached to them

Actually the pet girl of Sakurasou is supposed to be inspirational.

"What color are you"?

Just like that portrait of the whole Sakura hall, in the end everyone has their moment that defines who they really are. Life is colorful so pick one.

I think many people feel that way. I do.

It's a common thing, if the number of threads about this sort of thing that I've seen over the years is a good indication.

In fact there's a very recent thread that was started regarding emotional response to anime and mang and such, so I'm closing yours and ask that you you might want to join that other discussion:

/forumtopic-984763/do-you-feel-emotions-when-you-watch-anime-manga-or-ln

There's probably also a thread in the Anime forum specifically regarding that feeling of depression after watching a show you've become attached to, but I don't have the link handy. If I find it, I'll post it here.

ETA: I just skimmed through and didn't see a thread like that from the last couple of months, so I've retitled this one and moved it there.

It's a common feeling that I think we've all felt with anime and other aspects of our lives. Feeling sad when "something" is over is a very natural part of our human condition.

I do get very sad after finishing an anime but usually since this site is so vast and large, I find another great one within a few days.

Yup. I totally felt that way when I´d finished AnoHana, then again after Clannad. Sometimes The Feelz are strong O.o

I shed tears of manliness after finishing Gurren Lagann. But I did not expect to get hit by the feels train after watching the latter half of Angel Beats a few years back.

I used to, but I haven't felt it recently. Maybe I haven't seen anything that really clicked with me in a while.

Yes, and actually a few times Ive not watched the last episode of anime that really really made me feel, because then it never ends....

I know its stupid but ill often go and watch the ending much much later when I can handle it. usually when something else has gotten my feelings hooked to it.

I felt sad when Yu Yu hakusho and Kuroko no Basket ended. I filled the void by watching another good series.

If I don't feel sad when a show is finished, then I didn't like the show.

Otherwise, yes. Every time I finish a good show.
