I find this really interesting because I've never had loved ones be somewhere that had a disaster like this happen, but I'm always interested in hearing stories about it. It sounds awful. I've sadly not seen this film yet, but in the wake of the 6th anniversary of the tragedy and the fact tat repairs still haven't been completed I find this to be a very interesting new layer to this already celebrated work.

I saw the movie a few weeks ago and I got the vibe this might have been triggered by the 2011 tsunami tragedy.

It's a really good movie. Go watch it octo.

I can totally see that now that it's brought to my attention. I had similar feelings toward New Orleans after Katrina. I didn't really lose anyone close to me, but I certainly felt the loss. I felt the miasma of despair. Being close yet removed from the devastation ... was powerful.
