I tried to watch on the VRV app, but that doesn’t seem to have all of crunchyroll’s sereis on there.

Looks like this won't be fixed anytime soon. I've noticed this issue when I started on Knight's & Magic. I tried watching the latest episode of RWBY but that failed as well. I am still able to play older anime.

I am considering canceling my membership again. I don't use CR all that much anymore. I've fallen behind on all the manga I read here, and I barely watch any of the anime they have.

Roku 3 constantly having to buffer episodes, I'm not on a Roku TV so is it the app itself? All my other apps work pretty well for the most part.

TCL Roku TV is still having this issue with new episodes. Food Wars, Black Clover, but not Juni Taisen for some reason. I tried to go to the VRV app to watch, but it's stuck on the same screen there too.

This is getting ridiculous. I have premium until next August, I'd like to be able to watch what I pay for. Why is this not an issue? I sent an email outlining everything I've done to figure out the problem, but I never received anything back about it. Crunchyroll, what is your problem?

Know what I find funny? If I don't sign into my account and try to watch a show with the Roku TV app the ads will play but the actual show won't. So it's clearly CR and VRV video encoding.

Lucky Star isn't streaming properly in my Roku app, but my browser and android work fine. :/

I have rarely been so angry and disappointed with a streaming service. After working properly the last 3 months, I can't watch the final episodes of Blood Blockade Battlefront or Kino's Journey. This is so bad it's almost funny. Got a reply a week ago to my "escalated" ticket from back in SEPTEMBER that basically said "Whoops, lost your complaint. What a shame. Still having problems or....?" This lack of response is some of the worst business practice I've ever seen. I can't believe I used to recommend this service to people.

The thing that bothers me most is CrunchyRolls refusal to come in and give an official statement beyond genic "We know but it's Ruko's fault"

All my Roku devices have issues with Crunchyroll, and only Crunchyroll.
Netflix, Youtube, SlingTV, Amazon Prime, misc 3rd rate random streaming apps, everything else works just fine.

Guess I'll see if there is any better luck with the VRV app, but somehow I'm doubting it.

I have also been having problems retrieving videos from Crunchyroll. I've been a premium CR member with Roku for the better part of a decade, and only started stalling at 99% in the past few months. Now I can't find a way to contact Crunchyroll, and don't see why I should be paying $60/year for anime I can't watch.

CR if you are reading this, get in touch with me to fix my service. I like anime, but if I can't get it here I'll get it somewhere else.

So I ran a little experiment for all the good it will do me. I was curious why this problem seems to be limited only to certain simulcasted shows so I tried this out on both CR and VRV (though I no longer have a premium account to the latter).

What's interesting is all brand new simulcasts don't have this issue from what I can tell. Pop Team Epic, Skilled Teaser Takagi, A Place Further Than the Universe. All able to run just fine with no issue for me.

And yet, if I try to run Gintama, or Osomatsu-San, or Dragon Ball Super, suddenly this problem creeps back up. For whatever reason, this issue of shows being stuck on retrieving seems to be limited to the "Continuing Simulcasts."

VRV is kind of even worst because Funimation Simuldubs just flat out don't load on Roku TVs. I even tried to load finished series like Gamers to no avail.
