I'm sort of looking forward to the Fullmetal Alchemist movie (though I have not seen the show yet).

I don't want to see Ghost in the Shell. I've gotten tired of Scarlet Johanssen's voice.

Ghost in the Shell and Fullmetal Alchemist, the trailer for FMA looks surprisingly decent (by the way you should watch the show ASAP)

I honestly have no faith in any of the other ones that are coming out. Well... maybe Tokyo Ghoul could end up being decent, but the other ones like JoJo and Gintama I'm sure will never work, those are properties that can only work as manga or animated shows, not live action.

I'm looking forward to the Erased tv series Netflix is working on. I loved the anime, and the series is supposed to be closer to the manga (which I haven't read).

Fullmetal looks interesting too. I don't care at all about the Ghost in the Shell or Death Note movies.

I'm cautiously excited for the Battle Angel Alita movie.
James Cameron is apparently a fan and at the very least it should look fantastic with him involved. And the fact he isn't directing means we might get the movie in less than 20 years.

Ghost in the Shell looks interesting, but I also don't like her voice.

I also haven't watched anything live-action in a long time.

I'm more bothered by Beauty and the Beast than Ghost in the Shell. It looks way too close to the original, and it really looks like there's no point in making it other than to show off that they can animate so realistically that they can get away with calling it live action. But it's still animated.

As an animation fan, I am horribly offended that the words "live action Lion King" have ever appeared in print seriously. Making incredibly realistic 3DCG does not make it live action, and it's just an insult to animation to call it a live action remake instead of a 3D remake. But if they called it a 3D remake, everyone would realize how pointless it is, and they'd have to come up with an actual new story.

Yes, I know that by "anime" you didn't mean "Disney", but I had to mention that.

I'm a little interested in FMA because they say they're going to do a 3rd version of the story. I still like the 2003 one better than the manga. So I'm interested in how the live action compares.

The live action Black Butler movie was actually really good, and I'm glad FUNi is finally releasing it on DVD. Watch it subbed, though - I love the anime's dub cast, but these characters are not the same characters from the anime and manga and it was a mistake to dub it as if they are. This Sebastian is a lot more human than the one from the manga.

I had no idea they were doing a live-action Erased. The anime's on my list to watch.

I agree with the whole "live-action" thing. It's seriously annoying that remaking the Disney films is what they're focusing on. If they can't bring anything new to the table, they just shouldn't bother. This is why people get annoyed with reboots and sequels, but cry about there being no new original stuff... when original stuff gets made, but then no one watches it because it's not familiar and comfortable enough.

I've been hesitant to watch the live-action Black Butler (since Daisuke Ono's voice gives me life!) but I'll check out. Thanks for the recommendation.
