An update on the situation. I didn't post earlier because I lost wi-fi access and my Roku 2 is wifi only. Now I have access again (same ISP, different hot spot). I updated my Roku to the newest firmware (2.6.0) and the freezing is now manageable. If I pause the episode at the start for a few seconds, later on I get no freezes. If I get it run normally I get three short freezes (in a 24 min episode) in the first five minutes.

Dunno whether the fix was in the new firmware or in the videos compression (I have not checked older episodes), but I hope it does not break again.

What the fudge is going on..? I am a paid member and this shite is pissing me off..!! I cannot watch a single new episode of berserk and attack on titan with the stupid stuttering kicking in every few seconds. It has been happening for three weeks now. I have the Roku 4k Pro...everything was fine up until three weeks ago. All my other channels are fine (hulu, Netflix, amazon, etc.) except the Crunchyroll app. Come on, crunchyroll...do something or I'm gonna ditch your service too..!!

Wow. No fudging response from Crunchyroll..? Looks like they don't care after all as long as they continue to still make money from other members. What a fudging cop out.

Same thing is happening to me. It just started recently on my Roku TCL TV and Roku streaming stick.

Amazon, Netflix, Hulu and even Funimation works fine. Heck, 4k Content streams with no issues what so ever. It's CR that has been giving me problem. Really odd given I'm connected directly via ethernet cable.

With the latest episodes of Hinako Note and Tsuki ga kirei I am now "Stuck on retrieving", tried to play the video on chrome until the song was over and then tried to play it back in my roku to no avail :/

I forgot to update this, 24 hours after my first post everything started working again; well DBS still had the problem but after watching something else I tried again and could see the latest episode no problem. Dunno if I was lucky or someone fixed the issue after reading my post, but I hope crunchy does not screw it again, remember the new season is about to being so no roku means no renewal of my premium :p

I am currently experiencing this issue. I have the premium plan, and every time I try to watch anything, I get the "loading, please wait" screen every few seconds. Seriously makes me want to toss something at the screen. Was a fix ever addressed?

The only "fix" I applied was updating my Roku firmware from 7.5 to 7.6, but I am not 100% certain that was the fix since I also changed the hotspot (but not the ISP) thru which my roku connects to the internet.

I am having the same problem with Roku Premiere+ running 7.7.0 build 4135-29. Makes watching completely an aggravating experience.

I have a Roku Ultra HD 4640X player, and Crunchyroll is almost unusable. Firmware was last updated on August 25th.

Currently trying to watch Project Blue Earth SOS, but I've had problems with many different series. It's more "Loading, Please Wait" than it is actual playing of video.

Why am I paying for a service that doesn't work properly?

Very frustrating...
