I'm still working through Naruto as I'm only through episode 145 of Shippuden. I just wished that studios would take a break when the source material isn't far enough to be adapted, but I do realize that there's money to be made from doing them. Basically there are three approaches for this kind of situation as there can be lots of filler like what Naruto has been doing, the adaptation can be done at a snail's pace like with One Piece in the Dressrosa arc, and the show can go on hiatus like Fairy Tail. I prefer the Fairy Tail approach seeing that the studios could use a break now and then, all while it spared me the need to watch fillers which are terrible more often than not (especially when Shippuden made filler in spite of the manga having long been finished already). I have quite a long way to go before I can get to Boruto, and by then I'll probably be exhausted if I ever get to the end.

Pretty much my thought as well. I enjoyed the series, but I got tired of the filler arcs.

I loved the original series, its what got me into anime again during a deployment & never left again since, but the years of never ending fillers then the huge drop in quality & even more fillers in Shipuuden forced me to drop it in favor for the manga about a hundred episodes in. Knowing that its finally over makes me want to find a list of fillers so I can skip over them while catching up.

The series would have been better without fillers. Besides that a decent story, but not a masterpiece. It is a shounen after all

Say what you want about the Naruto series. I'm sure there were many people that were impacted by the series in some way. You can look at all the other series out there, I don't think there has been any other series that has impacted me the same way Naruto did.

Well imagine if you had no idea what fillers were. If you like Naruto more episodes are great. I liked the Garlic Jr. saga in DBZ. Thought the early filler episodes with Gohan were some of the best in the series. Uub is one of my favorite characters I would have killed to have more content with him in it, canon or filler.

That said in a post FMA:B, HxH, JoJo world filler simply isn't tolerated. I don't get the hate of them. If they are bad or boring or take you out of the action then yeah. I'd rather have a well-directed filler episode than a bad canon one.

I agree though. Naruto the anime is trash. Mainly because it's done by a shitty studio.

Truly, i have to respect those who have spend 15 years watching Naruto. Truly. I, on the other hand, never have watched it because when it started, i was so young i didn't know too much about anime. If i started watching all the episodes now, it wouldn't feel the same. If only...

So yeah, anyone who watched Naruto from start to finish, you have my respect.

I'm following the dub episodes, so I still have like 3 years to finish (however I'll do that, seeing as Viz removed all the dubbed episodes on Hulu). The manga was always great but I felt that eventually it just lost the charm it had in the first 26 volumes. It became a bit too supernatural for me. I enjoyed it to the end, but I just could never get excited like I used to.

I do have to give some props to Naruto for introducing me to anime, it'll always have a special nostalgic spot in my heart. I gotta thank my 10 year old self for flipping channels on the night I was folding socks.
