Idol show with all star male cast. I hope they get some good songs for this but honestly, I'll keep expectations low for now.

I bought this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2bWFCApU5U of Soara because I like two of the seiyuu in that group, and their music is pretty cute. I like all three songs in there. (full songs in the link; official upload)

The other groups don't seem that interesting, though. I'll probably watch it, but my expectations are actually pretty low, too. If the anime is the quality of Tsukiuta, it probably won't be that good... these characters don't seem nearly as interesting as the characters in Tsukiuta, and they don't seem to have big dance songs, which are what makes Tsukiuta so enjoyable.

But I could be wrong... I've seen just about nothing of these characters so I really don't know. And I had low expectations for Marginal #4 but that show is amazing. Like, really, legitimately amazing. So... maybe.

Also, these characters are in the Tsukino Paradise rhythm game that's coming up, along with Tsukiuta characters, so... I'll see them there, whether I like them or not. I hope they don't crowd out the game, like how Love Live became annoying after they added Aqours...

. . . . . . . okay though, listen to this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqwgyYjPjqE (official upload)

This is... wow.

This is some of the best music I've heard from 2D idols.

As weird as it may sound to have a group named "Growth", it fits - this is growing the potential of this genre, and it's exciting.

. . . . . they sound almost like a male version of Kalafina (though I must admit, their singing isn't as good as Kalafina's but their music is sort of similar in style to Kalafina's lighter things (e.g. "Moonfesta").)

It depends if they had to compete with another male idol anime like Tsukiuta had to due with B-project.

Here are 2 of the groups songs. I'm put in Soara's and Growths in later.

. . . . . StarMyu is really good though. So is Marginal #4. TsukiAni is okay (but the dance parts are amazing). I'm not into UtaPri or B Project, though.

But these guys... they look really cute. I think character-wise, they seem pretty good.

Soara and Growth are <3<3<3<3<3

. . . . . . . . not going to post it, because it's not an official upload, but I saw a video of the Soara seiyuu live at an event and they are sooooo cute <3<3

The reason why they choose Growth as their unit name is that all of their names have different characters in their name that are plant related. All 4 of them want to grow slowly and sturdy like a tree. Before they were hired by Tsukino. Koki, Ken, and Ryota were having a rough time with their previous agency and they were going to quit. This is when Koki met Mamoru, a homeless neet with a talent for composing. Thus Growth was formed.

Yeah, it makes sense it just still sounds... awkward, I guess.

. . . . . . . . . . . . your icon is way too cute though. ughh he's too precious.

edit: .........
I feel like these guys are going to get popular for being more "realistic" than other idol shows and like...

I like them now...
... but if people start saying that, I'm gonna end up disliking them because of it, and I hate that about the world and about myself but like...

Realism does not make something better.

I like my elegant prince idols.

Also, important note: they're in the rhythm game that's out now, Tsukipara. Them and Tsukiuta.

Wow, no one else is going to do this? No one else cares?

Anyway, look. SOARA. They're just... better than whatever characters are in whatever else you're going to watch next season.

Yeah, I just checked, and there's nothing else good next season. Maybe Code: Realize, but I don't have high hopes for it... and this probably won't be that good either. I dunno, I'm not really getting into any of these characters. I like the composer, and I like SOARA, but just because I like two of their seiyuu from another group (the one that's singing, and the one who's jumping around behind him. He's cute though <3)

Well, this is a genre that doesn't have much of a fan following. Male idol shows aren't exactly much of a draw as they are intended to market the fujoshi faithful, which is a very small audience. There's that, and the fact that it's a spinoff of Tsukiuta that wasn't exactly met with enthusiasm.

Male idol shows are really popular in Japan. They're not a big draw with people you know, that doesn't mean they don't have an audience. There's a world besides your friends, especially in, you know, the country all this stuff comes from.

Also, even in English, Tsukiuta has a bigger fandom than any of the other things that are actually good. (As to whether or not it's good.... the anime isn't that good, but the anime isn't the point. Which is the real issue here, none of this stuff is anime. The anime is a side product, the music and drama CDs are the real center of these stories, and none of those get translated/released outside of Japan. Which is a shame, because they really are better than everything else.

Also, it's not a spinoff in the sense that it definitely does stand alone. None of these characters were in Tsukiuta...
