Hello everyone! My friend made a hilarious Downfall parody that is about anime. For those of you who are not familiar with Downfall, it is a movie about Hitler's final moments in his bunker. There is a scene of him freaking out at his soldiers. It is a meme and I put fake subtitles over the video. I really think this community would like to see it. Take a look! Thanks! :D

Hello, Will! Your friend has ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what the original Angry Hitler video's joke was about, doesn't even remotely get it, and like most his age, doesn't even care.

Me, I remember the long days of the Blu-ray vs. HDDVD war, and why we got the very first Angry Hitler video in the first place.
To get the joke at all, it helps to have seen the real scene in Downfall, know the original context of what was being said, and then, ohh, the joke at Toshiba's expense was so much more delicious to savor, and so much more richly EARNED.
If you don't know, don't worry--I did a blog post on it, in honor of Jan. 4, a date sacred to all us old Blu-ray Format-War vets, and why we try to preserve the honor and integrity of the First Angry Hitler Video:

(Oh, and if you're wondering, the Second Angry Hitler Video ever made, a deliberate Internet parody of the First, was about Hillary losing her superdelegates to Obama in '08...Put the two videos together with the original movie, and think you'll finally start to see the pattern.)

It was O.K. It wasn't that funny, but it wasn't bad. Plus, I kind of get the feeling that this meme has kind of run it's course (I say that, and watch another one come out that's freakin' hilarious!).

Meh. The whole "anime is dying" paranoia with the Hitler meme subbing are both old ideas. I usually see embittered elderly who lament the 80s and 90s or countercultural teen viewers say this to make themselves appear more wise, and far more of the latter.

Anime may be dying for some, but it is usually a parroted comment by cynical teenagers who want something to hate because it is hip or cool to do so.

I cannot laugh and say "it is funny because it is true", because quite frankly, I do not believe it is true, nor do I believe the reasoning is decent or convincing.

I don't think willsage's meme was about anime dying. It was about his anime club not wanting to watch Tokyo Ghoul...

I am not sure who Willsage is. Which makes it worst, because I have nothing to base it on and I do not care at this point. It seems to me the whole "There are no good anime left" is an overly cynical saying in all honesty.
