Oopsie. Not sure how that edit ended up as a new post. Probably some combo of CR being glitchy and me being a dumbass who not only did it, but didn't even notice I'd done it.

I fixed it now.

Note that the OP was binge-watching an already completed series.

Personally, I always assume a series is 12 episodes until I learn otherwise (except for noitaminA, then I assume 11). Of course, it is disappointing when a series turns out to be only 10.

^ Same as TheAncientOne

I always assume every seasonal anime is 12 episodes, if it isn't then it's always a nice surprise to find out that it's actually 24 episodes.

I assumed his answer was in general.

I tend to not get my hopes up, considering the trend nowadays of 2-3 24x eps series per season. If they are original anime, their chances of being two cour/split cour rise up considerably. If they are adaptions, especially LN ones, then you can expect them to be 12x episodes most of the time.

It's even worse when, not only does an anime you like get only 12 eps, but another anime you think is pretty dumb gets a second season.

I'm not naming names, yet.

I'd rather have it 12-13 episodes than 200. I hate long series. Even 24-26 is too long. It's all filler after the third episode.

I always approach shows assuming that they are 12-13 episodes long unless previously announced. Basically, anime shows are advertisements for the source material most of the time, and it's understandable why the majority of shows only get one cour and only the successful shows get more than that for money reasons.

Not particularly. Long series sound like too much effort, and if I start missing weeks, and it starts to add up, it's easier to binge a 12 episode series than a long series.

I actually don't mind it that much. I'm quite impressed by anime that really grips me in and makes me feel fulfilled quality-wise within 12 episodes. I tend to use that as a reference for me to read the manga/novel for it.

No, because I love 12 episode anime. It's short and efficient & #1 I'm not a big fan of long running animes... IMO, a 12 episode anime that can affect you in some way is better than longer animes that have bad plots or character development, it also means that the 12 episode anime had a better story telling and character development.

I know. AoT is not available and S2 is likely not going to be either Dragon Ball Super isn't either and then, My Hero Academia is for Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland but not for Finland. Why? Granted, i understand this region restrictions but even so.
