I just cancelled auto-renewal of my premium sub. Here's how to get it back:

First, the player is not good at all:
- The player only buffers a few seconds or so, meaning any problem anywhere between me and the server results in stuttering. Let the player buffer up to 4-5 minutes of video, and keep buffering while paused. Additionally, change the UI to indicate how much is buffered, similar to how youtube shows it.

This would smooth out any performance issue. It's not often I'm affected by this sort of thing but it IS very, very frustrating when it does happen.

- Insert chapters for cold open, OP, part A, part B, and ED/preview/post-credits bit, so that we can easily skip and navigate as desired.

- Flash is antiquated and I find your reasons for continuing to use it implausible. CR is the only website I use with any sort of regularity that still needs it. Leave that plugin junk behind!

Second, video quality is not good. There's more to it than bitrate. Cleaning up the source is important as well. All the bits in the world won't help you if you feed garbage into your encode.

CR is quite simply the worst of the lot when it comes to quality. This has been more noticeable to me lately as I started watching on a larger, 55" screen and comparing with other sources. The banding and artifacting, particularly evident in some episodes of Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju are appalling.

Third, performance of the website is not good. Sometimes when I go to play an anime, the player will not load. I have to refresh the page several times. Then the player loads, and sometimes the video doesn't play. I don't experience this issue on other sites and suspect it is related to your continued clinging to that antiquated Flash player.

CR has had a HTML5 player in beta for a while now (you need to be a Premium+ subscriber to access it), and HTML5 is used for the web player for the new VRV site. At this point it seems only a matter of time before CR switches.

I have been a premium user for years and I just cancelled my sub too, I can rarely watch videos since like 2 weeks ago, I did write to support and I am still waiting for an answer they said we escalated your ticket and no more answers since then, problem here is the video just stops I have to wait for several minutes to load some seconds again with a 20 Mbps internet connection, I can watch videos with no problems in other websites even 4k in youtube while others are watching youtube in my house but that's crunchyroll for you nowadays

I have not been able to load an episode with the html5 player since January.

hell i can hardly get anything to play on the pc passed the first 4-5 seconds of loading as it is these days. The only way i can consistently use CR right now is through chromecast.

Still only for manga and Premium+? Meh.

I signed up on VRV and linked my account and it tells me I'm not premium. Guess it wants Premium+ too, although it didn't say that anywhere. Also requiring users to sign up just to see the pricing is kinda...shitty.
