I like pretty much all of these things.

Pre-ordered a PS4 copy, but I'm not sure if I'll also get it on Xbox.

Hmm... I'm torn. I really did enjoy the first Destiny but it fell all too easily into the usual MMO quagmire of everything meaningful being wrapped up in forced multiplayer content. Except Destiny had even less to do if you're not into raiding than most MMOs. I'm taking a wait and see.

So the PC version is coming exclusively through Blizzard's battle.net, that's really interesting that it isn't going to be through steam or anything else.

It's obvious, Activision owns Blizzard (hence it's name Activision-Blizzard). If they throw Destiny on Battle.net you have no expenses on a launcher/client, you have a friendslist ready and you have those Battle.net promotional reward things.

They probably don't want to go via Steam because of money. I'm pretty sure it's hellaexpensive to throw your AAA game up there.

Valve takes a 30% cut of every Steam sale: https://www.polygon.com/2017/5/16/15622366/valve-gabe-newell-sales-origin-destructive

Tbh I didn't really like the 1st Destiny, you were practically forced to have a group of people to always play online with. (in order to get the best gear too)

Well it isn't "obvious" considering no other game besides Blizzard developed games are on there.

I really hope the PvE makes up for what I've heard about the PvP thus far in this game because I'm not impressed at all with the peer to peer matchmaking and the small 4v4 (8 players max) PvP modes.

It's cool that folks are excited for Destiny 2 to come out this year. As for me, I'll rent before even thinking about buying it (didn't enjoy first Destiny game for bunch of reasons).

Does Blizzard still do this " you have to pay x amount of money monthly so you can play our games"?
That is only reason why I have avoided all Blizzard games.

That shouldn't apply to things like Overwatch or Destiny 2, where your "subscription" is funded by the price of the game/expansions/microtransactions.

I guess, but like I said. It's all under Activision-Blizzard. They most likely weighted out the pros and cons for this. I wouldn't be surprised if they took some marketing/promotional opportunities within Blizzard games as well as take some ideas out of WoW.
