For me, definitely Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid. Just the entire concept is awesome (Dragons X Humans), and each character was adorable. Great show.

I ended up becoming incredibly bored with Interviews with Monster Girls as it seemed to wear off on me. Just didn't go anywhere and later episodes dragged as they kind of went over and over the same concepts.

IMO, YMMV.

Interviews with Monster Girls for sure. They just did wonders exploring the daily lives and struggles of the demi humans, the characters were all really likeable and they barely had any fan service at all, and when there is, it always makes sense because it's always based around the succubus.

Dragon Maid for me it's more like a "eh, it's fine" type of show. Nothing too special. It wasn't as smart as Monster Girls and the jokes sometimes relied too much on the otaku culture (which is something that many other shows have done before), others were repetitive and got old quickly, and sometimes the jokes weren't funny at all. And unlike Monster Girls where the fan service actually had to do with one of the characters and her daily struggles, in Dragon Maid it is just a cheap tactic to sell the show.

Interviews with Monster Girls because I have no interest in Kanna as a character.

I liked them both, for different reasons. But Monster Girls edged out the dragon maid.

Poll should end up one sided most likely. Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is cuter, but Interview with Monster Girls is alot more fulfilling and soulful. Dragon Maid does, thankfully, engage on a deeper level from time to time as an undercurrent to the series. But Monster Girls never stops engaging on that sweet wholesome level while remaining cute throughout. Both are good. If you are looking for something cute and funny to watch, Dragon Maid hands down. If you are looking for wholesome and soul touching while being cute then Monster Girls. Neither one can touch the other's strength and both are great.

But I'd still say Monster Girls is the overall better anime, simply because what it does it largely untraveled territory. You can find alot of cute animes out there, and some have serious angles underneath. Monster Girls explored an aspect of anime that's basically not been touched and did it soooo well. The sheer amount of consideration, exploration, and humanity that was put into an archetype that's normally just used for erotic or battle animes as a gag was pretty impressive.

Whereas I found Dragon Maid relied heavily on alot of tired tropes even though it also did alot to break out from them. Still a great anime, but I did note that.

I like'd both alot, but I'd lead towards monster girls due to the closer to slice of life part of it.

Interviews with Monster Girls is my choice. It's been a long time since i've seen as heartwarming as this. I plan to rewatch this someday. It's just that great.

As for Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, it too, is great but one thing i really have to dislike from it is the damn fanservice. Everything else is cool but all those noob jokes and such, no no no. Need i say more?

I could lean towards either.

Kobayashi is more subtle with the discrimination, and for that it deserves praise because they placed it where it made the most sense. A great deal with it concerns familial relations, from Tohru's clan to Kanna seeing Kobayashi as a mother figure despite no relation.

Interview is more dedicated to this, but it is an already known concept. However, I am not sure many people know that some people actively try to subvert racial stereotypes like the Succubus teacher, among other things. This goes beyond being victims, but going along with public pressure. I am not sure many people know.

Kobayashi is cuter, Interview is definitely more serious. Both do their genres justice.
