Nothing because ugliness and prettiness are social constructs.

You'll know your boyfriend/girlfriend likes you for yourself rather then your appearance? (assuming you aren't a millionaire... at which point people might want to be your friend for money)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder anyway

Pros:

Being able to turn people to stone.

Cons:

Having your head chopped off by a Greek "hero" who wants to turn others into stone.

I don't actually see any pros about that...
Trying to find happiness knowing your fate F'd you? Blame your parents for passing on terrible DNA! Shame!

^
Not being serious with that last part btw, but seriously: No pros.

Who gets to define "ugly?" Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder and what one person views as ugly or unattractive may be beautiful to another. I don't know what benefits there would be for someone who's ugly because I refuse to call that person ugly. Everyone has beauty if you're willing to look for it just like you can also find ugliness in everyone if you're actively looking for it. Do we really need to play up the medias unfair expectations of beauty? Does that really benefit anyone? If we go by the people we see in magazines then we'd all be ugly because beautiful people don't have any freaking pores for crying out loud.

Well if it's any consolation, most of the time ugly people have better personalities since they aren't showered with the kind of attention gained from superficial praise and encouragement as often. It doesn't mean that all ugly people have great personalities, but the chance for one to develop is higher I suppose.
