Anyway, while it's a given that we'll get Hibiki punching something absurd and Chris singing about hell-bullets selling at half-price, I'm hoping we get more Genjuro this season; that was something GX was lacking. Ideally he gets his own symphogear; I want to see that transformation, and hear what he'd sing. More realistically, they should return to having the climax songs be a scary thing: they were near-fatal in the first season, but now they kinda just shrug them off. I think highlighting the danger of the climax song was one of the things that made the story more intense and interesting in the first season.

Same here go a bit back to basics be nice. Thought I love to see some of her classmates get Sypmpgears too..

and the return of the auto-scorers they need more screentime!

The autoscorers were great. Garie and Micha were much better than the other two, though. I don't even remember their names, and I rewatched GX last week.

Re-watched the last 3 seasons as of a couple weeks ago. I did kind of skip several of Symphogear G, that season was a little weak compared to 1 and 3. My one hope is that some of the baddies can actually get beaten this time, rather than the sort of Kiss&make up that seems to happen.

Doc. Ver is the best part of G and GX.
Anyway, only girls can use Symphogears. It's the reason why the Division 2 base was built under Lydian, an all girls school. Genjuurou however CAN use a complete Relic like Durandal, Nehustan, or Solomon's Cane if it's active.
I like the idea of the Superb Songs with deathly consequences returning again. Hibiki tanking them worked for G's plot, and they were completely absent from GX save for the finale. Here's hoping for a second wind.

Alas, I forgot! Well then - I'm not usually one to resort to these kinds of tricks, but perhaps:

Even if Genjuro doesn't get to fight noise while singing some '80s B-movie theme, I'll be happy if there's more of him this season. He was one of the ingredients that made season 1 better than the other two: he was a good frame for the personal issues and conflicts going on. He even says to Chris at one point that he's an adult and thus has responsibilities towards the wielders. The training montage in G where he sang was good, but his contribution to the first season was still better (especially when you add in his fight with Finé).

I'm a little worried that there are too many characters now. I guess Elfnein could be interesting (question: do we know entirely what happened with her at the end of GX?), but to be honest I don't really care about Kirika and Shirabe; they feel like they're just tacked on. I sort of feel the same about Maria, but she actually added something to G, and she definitely knows how to drive. So she's interesting even if her conflict in GX was weak. But if they all have their own things going on in addition to the plot, the story will be too diffuse - which is exactly what happened in GX.

And oh yeah: having Dr. Ver show up to annoy Carol and save the world probably saved GX, too.

Elfnein fused with Carol at the end of GX. She's now in Carol's body with her own memories, more or less making her who Carol was before she went on her revenge spree some several hundred yeas ago.

EDIT: I accidently deleted that I was quoting you. Sorry.

Raws are out for the first episode of AXS.

Oh man, What an episode. If this is the downtime moment of the season, I can't wait for the mid season and finale moments of the season.

Yeah - there aren't many options left, are there.

She's going to have to punch THE SUN.

Season 4 (AXZ): Hibiki punches the sun

Season 5: Hibiki punches the galaxy

Season 6 (let's face it, this series is too damn good and bestselling to end anytime soon): HIbiki punches the entire universe

Season 7: The custodian(s) finally appear and are all like "yo, Hibiki. Stop punching shit"....and then get punched by Hibiki.

It actually translates to Superb Song, not Swan Song.
A creative liberty that sounds cool, but doesn't really fit.

Also, no update yet? Subs when?

It's not out on any "less than legal" sites yet, either Dx

Which makes sense considering translating takes awhile. Especially when you're not an official company with a team and perhaps some help from the official source.

I really hope CR announces AXZ on their site, though. I wanna support this series as much as possible (including streaming it legally), but I'm not willing to pay for Amazon's double paywall. I doubt Netflix or Hulu will get it (does Netlix even do any subbed anime at all? I forget), but I won't mind if they do. There's plenty of other shows I wanna watch on Hulu (and wouldn't mind paying to watch), and I have another trial offer for Netflix.

I don't believe we have to worry about Amazon getting anything more at this point. If last season is anything to go by, once they have announced their lineup, that's it.

While Netflix definitely licenses anime directly, Symphogear isn't their style. The anime they license directly are either dubbed when they first premiere, or dubbed later (such as Kuromukuro), and Symphogear has a lot of singing that really wouldn't work dubbed. Overall, it just doesn't seem like a Netflix series.

As for Hulu, I've never seen them directly license an anime from Japan. The exclusives they've had always came from a US publisher that had licensed the title (e.g., Viz, Sentai).

That's definitely good news, then

I finally got myself a job, so once the official announcement comes I can actually throw some money CR's way.

As far as I can tell from reverse searches and stuff, the artist's name is Murakami Hisashi, but I'm not sure if that's accurate.
I found a lot of good symphogear art tagged under that name.
