I'll be honest, I was only passably interested in the first season. I found Midoriya more than a bit annoying at times and it was by the strength of the supporting cast that I stayed with the series. Now that Midoriya is finally starting to get more confidence and is spending less time pouring out enough tears and snot to flood the Sahara I'm really getting into it. Though one thing about him I hope they carry over into the new season is his analytical ability. His encyclopedic knowledge of heroes and their abilities which translated into some pretty amazing strategy was in my opinion his best quality.

What I was worried about was Kacchan. He has definitely mellowed out since Season 1. I was hoping he wasn't going to become "The Sasuke" of the series. On the other hand, the guy with the ice powers appears to have picked up that narrative baton, & seems determined to run with it as hard as he can.

When he mentioned his father I couldn't help but think of Tenya but perhaps his polar opposite. Both could be characters driven by a single member of their families. In Tenya's case respect for his brother drives him to be a hero. In Shouto's case it may turn out to be a case of "my old man pushed me to be a hero". I haven't read the source material so I'm looking forward to seeing how Shouto's story plays out.

Mmmmm.... pretty much all of the episode was more or less cut and paste from the manga. It was a slow episode, sure, but it was meant to be as it was setting up the new arc and introduction of the other classes.

hmmm....so the obstical race specifically is the qualifier,
I hope they don't plan to skip the other events and go right to the one-on-one matches

Same here. I pretty much only finished it because it was a light season for me and it was only 13 episodes. I hope he continues to use his analytical ability as well. That's kind of his redeeming quality.

Second episode of this season is much better than the first. Hopefully the pacing stays more like the second half of the episode. The supporting cast, especially Todoroki and Bakugo, are still carrying much of the narrative.

I think with the 25 episode listing we don't have to worry about them skipping anything in the festival. This arc is important as many of the supporting cast starts to develop outside of the small handful of main characters.

E2

As others have said, it's getting a little better pacing wise, but now that we're in the action, it should get good. Todoroki is OP.

I was a little disappointed to see Midoriya's mum have no faith in him when she saw those robots; she must know how hard he's worked and how badly he wants to be a hero, so I was expecting some support - I guess it's nerves for now.

Bakugo's statement in front of the crowds was typical of him haha, and is like Souma's introduction in Food Wars, except more desperate.

I just want to say that I really want to see Izuku fully transform this season without breaking his whole body. If All Might can use One for All to transform his entire body, I would say Izuku can do it, too, once he can learn to control it fully. Also, he needs a better costume, preferably more fireproof.

Hands down best thing airing. forced me into reading and buying all the volumes that have been released into the US. So after passing the US release and going to what has been out of the scans....This series as solidly gained my number 2 of all time, only to be beaten by HxH and to have surpassed Black Lagoon.

Its been a while i have been as excited as i can be to wait for panels to be animated from something i have read. Mido's growth is undeniably pure amazement, that it leaves me speechless.

Can;t wait for the next episode to see how ones adds their little twists and make such a great series even greater.
