Episode 1

Heey, 40+ minutes! Sweet!!

So, Alice & Zoroku has an interesting start, but I have a feeling it's not going to focus on what makes it potentially interesting. It has this sci-fi thriller thing going for it, but I'm not buying any of it. It'll probably focus on slice of life adventures between Sana and the old man and get to the sci-fi stuff for the very end.

But hey, I could be wrong. I'm happy to see TO-MAS back with the music! Additionally, what was up with those CG cars and backgrounds? Kind of sloppy there, even if CG isn't my thing at all. There was also some misleading in the beginning since it felt like this was going to be a fantasy battle, then changed to a sci-fi.

Hopefully this'll take its premise seriously and not focus on slice of life stuff. Wouldn't be surprised if it went there, but prove me wrong Alice!

did anyone else notice that scene where he stopped the car but there was still scenery moving past them in the back ground. For a second i thought "ok well maybe he just started driving again" but then the girl ask him "why did you stop". Was just a bit jarring.

over all tho I really enjoyed it. you don't see to many anime focus on an elderly person as one of the main protagonist. They cg was a bit rough but I've seen worse and its something I can get past. Looking forward to the rest of it.

wow a 45 min eps! I haven't seen one of those since Fate/Zero

Sleeper hit of the season right here.

Really strong first eps. Loving the interaction between Sana and Zorku

.and the CG was a bit distracting but nothing to make me stop watching.

I thought the story was okay, but the animation was really bad. And I'm not referring to the CG parts exclusively. It's like they're missing "inbetween" frames. It's made it nearly unwatchable for me. I don't think I'll continue with this one.

Even with the relentless whining, I think this will be one of the better shows of this season.

Despite the "evil lab" stichk, liked the ep, CG didn't bother me per se. Liked how the bad guys don't look evil. It was quite refreshing too not having the typical male lead; this old guy is gonna teach her (them) some manners! Sophie (Howel's Castle) would be proud. Not relying on her calorie consumptive powers makes sense, and not manipulating people is descent.

It flowed really well for a 40 minute episode.

It's more or less what I thought it would be, but I hope there are surprises along the way. Other than teleporting we haven't really seen anything she can do, eh? It seems like that white haired boy was behind fixing the bridge and car if his sketchbook has anything to do with either.

I love the old guy as the mc. Already he is not putting up with the typical crazy loli stuff that usually goes down.

lolwut? I thought Sana looked younger when she changed into her pink dress. Did she change her age?

Probably just because she tied her hair up.

Anyways, I'm liking this series going in blindly. I didn't mind the cg enough to care, and Zoroku seems like a great MC. The first ep created a lot of questions that can be answered over the series, and hopefully they'll get answered. Soundtrack was very enjoyable and the animation itself wasn't half bad either.
My body is ready for these upcoming Sundays.

Okay lets get this out of the way *clears throat*

WHAT WAS UP WITH THE CGI! I MEAN GOODNESS GRACIOUS! THIS IS MADE BY STUDIO J.C.STAFF, THE STUDIO THAT DID 'FOOD WARS', THE 'INDEX' FRANCHISE, AND 'FLYING WITCH'! WHY DOES THE CGI LOOK LIKE IT WAS MADE IN THE EARLY 2000s? THE ORIGINAL 'FATE STAY NIGHT' CGI MESS OF A DRAGON LOOKED BETTER THEN THIS!

Okay I am done, outside of that everything looked nice.

The character design and art style is different. The story is intriguing in a way that the first episode didn't feel like 45 min to me. I was fully engrossed in what was happening, and will continue to watch to see what unfolds.

(The art style and humor, reminds me a lot of Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer but this and Lucifer are done by different people)

I thought it was interesting mainly becuase of the old guy . A very nice set-up for the story in this episode and introduced a lot of characters just in one episode.
This made me curious how the story will develop. Will follow.

but all the CG background people and CG car chase was distracting.

I agree pretty much with all of this. While the CG stuff was a bit distracting, it also kind of added a surreal feel that seemed consistent with the premise.

Especially, especially loved old guy. If he remains a main focus and gets more screen time than magic girls and mad scientists, I'm in.

Liked it. If they keep the focus on the relationship between Sana and Zoroku and not overplay the psychic abilities stuff, it should be a really good story.

Hopefully they don't turn this one into yet another magical girl-type shows, but we'll see.

I nod in agreement.

I really dislike JC staff when it comes to action scenes. They always seem to take the easy way out on those.
