When I booted up Crunchyroll to watch Dragon Ball Super last night, I noticed it had the premium crown label on it. Seeing as how I have a Premium Membership, this bothered me not at all. In fact, I saw it as Crunchyroll finally starting to take seriously the concerns of their paid premium members regarding how little our investment into the site was being appreciated.

If this is the plan going forward, Crunchyroll may lose some ad revenue, but that's nothing compared to hundreds & maybe even thousands of paid premium members cancelling en masse, which has already started happening.

Yeah I think making Dragon Ball Super exclusive for even a few days would solve some problems. I can't even watch it now. The video pauses and when I try to reload I get an error. Worse part is CR hasn't even came into the forums to make an official statement

i thought simulcast was already exclusive to premium members...? considering that CR has over 1 million paid subscriptions and Dragon Ball Super is extremely popular, maybe it's the influx of online traffic from paid members that's causing all the server problems.
maybe they need to invest in better servers instead.

edit: interesting, so the simulcast was available for free members as well. interesting (what were they thinking?)
maybe making it premium exclusive will help a little. maybe.

I still couldn't watch anything last night, so it's clearly not enough.

Are we not going to get an answer to this? Was this a fluke, or will it continue going forward?
