I'm pretty sure there wasn't an anticipation thread for this.

Anyway, I'm happy to have another anime I know nothing about to try out. CR's got this on their lineup, and I expect the first episode will be available soon.

It's certainly different looking than the others. I do like dark comedy so I'm quite interested in this.

It's full length, and the episodes are really two half-length episodes contained in one.

Episode 1

Never take advantage of a shady salesman like Moguro. Nakajima and Mitsuko failed to heed that warning and they ended up paying for it. Nakajima goes drinking during the daytime, and seeing that he's head over heels with Haruka that he couldn't just stay away and seeing that the nightclub is much different at night that it means getting drunk while he's still on the job. And now he's hit with a huge bill at the end.

Then there's Mitsuko who is given a credit card where everything she buys gets repossessed the next day. This is supposed to be a safety measure for her impulsive shopping habits, but she tries to push things to the limit by splurging it on a makeover and night out. As a result, her youth gets repossessed and now she's a fat old hag.

The first half was pretty meh, while the second half was pretty entertaining all going to show that you should never try and take advantage of a shady salesman. Those two idiots didn't heed Moguro's warning, and they ended up getting ruined.

Umm.. Where or what was the warning for what they weren't supposed to do for the first story?

I saw the second story coming a mile away, and even then all she had to do was keep buying only objects and she would have been OK.

But how would they keep the daydream going without paying a ridiculous price for it. Even if they tempered their drinking and didn't go wild and get soused, there still would have been a premium price for time spent after they were "treated" the first time. Maybe not almost five grand, but still, more than a salary man could afford for lunch. There was no "winning" that one that I could see.

I liked the OP a lot.

And, that's about all I really liked. Not entirely surprised. Even from the description I guessed there was a good chance it would be blatantly moralistic and ham-fisted, but I was hoping for a bit of nuance.

Let's see though. It could grow on me anyway.

Probably the worst thing you could say about something like this is that it's boring, but I don't think this show even aspires to that lofty height.

Going in to this knowing nothing and with a Fukuzou quickly explaining who he is and what he does to his customers who are lonely seemed very quirky.

The OP made me acknowledge that this show will not take it self seriously but it doesn’t mean that the episode does have deeper meaning. The episode is split in to two parts, and we see him dealing with two customers experiencing some sort of issue and he tries to help them to have a better outcome.

There were fantastic animation throughout the episode, very whacky in some places and out of the ordinary but I would say the first customer character design didn’t suit well with me and I was relieved further on in the episode I could cope with the designs. This is only my opinion and you might not care on how they are portrayed off the wall in a comical sense.

What I have learned with my experience is not to judge by pictures you see or the first minutes in to the episode before making up your mind. I am glad I watched all of it and I didn’t drop it.

I'm not really sure what the show is going for here. Morality tales? I guess. Though feels more like they're being led into temptation then punished when they follow. The premise is like they tried to take the idea of Hell Girl where making a wish sends you to hell and Yamashibai with short-form horror stories. I get the feeling this would make a bigger impact with Japanese viewers as I can tell they're hitting on Japanese taboos but it doesn't really resonate with me to be honest.

And how on earth does going to a spa and dinner equate to being made old, toothless, and fat? If the whole idea of the repossessing was to reset things to how they were before the purchase then she should have gone back to herself before making the purchases. Feels more like a punishment for trying to game the rules.

Compared to most shows, this was definitely a very different first episode. I notice that one of the genre tags was comedy. Not sure how applicable that tag will be. This episode was more bleak than comical. Rather curious to see more; particularly Moguro's backstory.

The art style feels old, which is not necessarily bad. The most recent anime I've seen, with a similar style, is Osomatsu-san. Though the first protagonist's floppy mouth did bother me a little.

Enjoyed that OP. As for the show, it's rather creepy — like the original Grimm's fairy tales, but with a modern twist. With that in mind, I half expect a story with poison or cannibalism or incest, all to justify "pleasures of the heart". Should be interesting to see what warped deals Moguro can devise for his next victims.
