Episode 3

Baselard is quite the playful one there going to school with Ao, and then causing all sorts trouble as she collects shinies from school. And then Ao gains two more figures in the Materia sisters Black and White as she names them. It then becomes a 2-on-2 battle as Gourai and Stylet show some amazing teamwork in the end. Well, that was pretty much what I have expected, more or less.

Seeing that this show requires another subscription over at TAN and that I would be subscribing for that show only that I'm not going to watch any more of this show. The FA Girls are nice, but overall this is just a marketing drive to sell these figures. Sorry Kotobukiya.

And it's working on me.

I've been looking at the models trying to decide if I'll take the plunge.

The fight scenes are fun, but still feels like I just watched an elaborate commercial for Kotobuki Nippers and plastic models. Changing the channel on this one.

Frame Arms Girl

EP 1 "Gourai"/"Stylet and Baselard"

I think I underated this but am enjoying this a lot more than I thought I would Lots of battles / life lessons / reminds me of " Small Soliders

Opening Theme . "Tiny Tiny" by Rie Murakawa
Ending Theme /"FULLSCRATCH LOVE" by FA Girls

EP 2 "Can a Sty-ko who Can’t Fly be Called "Sty-ko"?" / "We’re Gonna Clean"

Ao starts to get to know more about the Frame Arms Girls and their functions. Meanwhile, Gourai has other plans on what to teach

EP 3 "Let's Go to School" / "Here Come the Materia Sisters"

Berween Base who is a riot and obessed model BLDR Bukiko was great the add the demented Materia sisters oh my

EP 4 "Jinrai Appears!" / "Redecorating is Fun"

Jinrai is the serious ( Ninja ) one ( Shes a fav ) The Materia sisters spent money on decorating their room

Frame Arms Girl

EP 5 "The Architect is Activated" / "The Errand Race"

Architect in program form battles Gourai and Jinrai but the duo wins and Gourai gas to fix Architect with a hug Later Architect comes back in physical form.

THE F.A. girls have a race to get Ao some vinegar for a meal but goes wrong for the others except Architect who completes the task

EP 6 "Fireworks Festival of Feelings" / "Let's Go to School 2"

Even though insane the segments had good endings

Frame Arms Girl EP 7 "Vs. Hresvelgr" / "First Tale of the F.A. Girls

IDK why but this a chill anime I have a lot of fun watching this

While Ao is at School The F.A. girls play hide and seek it's fun until OP Hresvelgr shows up wrecks Ao's door defeats Gourai for her first loss and breaks a window as she leaves

So Gourai wants an upgrade and Bukijo comes up with some insane ideas

Frame Arms Girl EP 8 "A Call to Action" / "Autumn Beckons..."

Very underated funny / Action SOL but with good life lessons

The first segment made fun of the often used festivals but a nice SOL segment with Ao/ Gourai out for an autumn faunt in the park but Gouray learns a lot about Ao past / playing house / her parents / and then the time caspule after meeting a girl Guriko ( / was she real or Ao's imagination as there is a dool in the caspule

One thing I take Gourai is like a younger sister to Ao who was an only child !

With the Holiday weekend I finally found time to watch Ep1. As someone who used to build models the whole scene with the nippers and Gourai gushing over how amazing they were takes me back. Definitely has an Angelic Layer vibe but the plot is way more forced. Really feels like an extended ad for the Frame Arm Girls franchise than an attempt at an actual anime. But I can't say I dislike it. And the ED showing all the girls working with model building tools tripped that nostalgia button hard.

Maybe it's just me, or maybe it's because I came to like the characters themselves, but I do feel the series feels much less like an extended advertisement as it goes on. There are a few segments later on that do feel "ad-like" but they actually feel more like they're more parody like in their approach. There is never much actual plot or development but the show does settle into a nice casual slice of life groove of it's own with merely hints at an overall story arc.

That's good to know. I guess with the first episode it felt like they stuck an unboxing video in it with all the construction bits.

Ep 9

Wow, the opening for the most recent episode has gone through a bunch of changes it seems. The CG is gone for the most part and it looks really nice! I had to go back and check to see if I had just missed it this entire time, but it looks like episode 9 is where the new look for the OP starts. Speaking of new looks, Gourai's upgrades are pretty cool. Cute episode though, the pep rally made me chuckle a few times. Base and Stylet would be an awesome magic duo and I was entertained by Jinrai laughing at the Materia sisters' terrible jokes.
