Moving to a site that has a video player that doesn't require a super computer to run.
I'm sorry but my water cooled 6-core 4.4Ghz i7 3930k is apparently not fast enough to run the flash player. It's all my fault maybe I'll come back when I get a 22-core Xeon rig next year.

yea I know more cores doesn't help flash at all because ancient code don't multi thread. It's a joke, actually it's two.
I don't know how you laptop users deal with this BS.

And don't tell me about that piece of crap app, the navigation is so bad I can't even find and play the first season of attack on titan.

My computer works fine, but the site is not that well maintained. I had to disable Beardfist's extension specifically for CR just to play videos.

My main problem is that buffering stops only a few minutes after the end, and that if you buffer to long, the video will stop and has to be reloaded.

Yes, I thought it was just my crappy computer but this seems like a common problem. CR really needs to fix this, its annoying as hell

...You watch it on COMPUTER??

I mean, what's the point of subscribing to any service that doesn't have a Playstation/Roku app for the living room (where you can sit in nice chairs instead of office ones), and if I didn't have so much running on my iPad at the moment, I'd watch the mobile version in bed.

(Another bit of misdirected fury from fans who believe the world revolves around their amped-up PC...Would I be correct in guessing he does a fair share of gaming on it as well? )

Crunchyroll has a HTML5 player in beta right now that I believe will eventually replace the Flash player. It's being beta tested by the Premium Plus members. Not trying to keep you here... just an fyi.

Also CR's new venture, VRV doesn't use Flash. I believe it's a HTML5 player. Since you still have your paid membership, you might want to give it a spin: https://vrv.co/. I believe it's free to link your Premium account to it.

Link it up and try Attack On Titan: https://vrv.co/series/GR751KNZY/Attack-on-Titan. See how the player compares to the old Flash player.

Also this:

VRV's systems are indeed on an entirely different infrastructure and architecture. This was possible because the new service was built from scratch and isn't just a simple copy of Crunchyroll.

As for Crunchyroll, it is built in a different way and uses and older architecture. We are already working to migrate Crunchyroll to a newer infrastructure, and have already done so for the video delivery part of the service. The website is basically next on our list, but as this is a HUGE project, it will take some time to do so. The whole process is sadly not as easy as just "copying it over and it will keep working".

As we do have the more robust VRV infrastructure at hand and working, we can offer it as a workaround for the times that Crunchyroll itself is struggling or being attacked - at least for our users in the US (which are the majority - so if some US users use VRV, the load on CR will be lessened, which helps those outside of the US). This does not cost anyone extra, as you can simply link a VRV and Crunchyroll account, and thus use the already existing Crunchyroll Premium privileges. It's not a marketing move, we are just trying to make sure that our users are aware of the alternative and are able to enjoy what they paid for.

I watch CR on an old PC with a fx6300. As long as my internet is working I stream 1080p just fine. I agree that the flash player is not good, but it works for me so maybe there is a problem on your end.

150mbps down

I think it's because of the 4k display, the scaling of videos on software to such high resolutions is a drag.

And no I don't tend to watch on my iPad because it has lousy speakers and I don't want to wear headphones.

When CR get more with steam, I would use steam and not CR...
CR seems outdated by now and a mess, when watching it either from their anime company main site or illegal which is many do.
The whole family friendly and region restriction, something steam can offer a lot more in many ways and hopefully get more into business deals.
+ better streaming then most sites/places?
and a bit new with an amount of issues.

lol I only watch Crunchyroll on my PS4/PS Vita. I rarely use my computer to stream anymore unless its for fansubs only cause I do not want to expose my consoles to viruses.

*Looks at profile* Oh he's not premium.

What's the point of paying 100 a year for a subscription that provides lower quality anime than what pirates get, runs on a shitty flash player that gets more deprecated every year, and still hasn't created a dedicated html player that doesn't run like ass. I'll be cutting my subscription when it runs out this year too, since CR clearly doesn't care about its userbase. It's PAYING userbase, mind you.

World doesn't revolve around our beast rigs. But my computer has no problem handling anything I throw at it, save for Crunchyroll. Why wouldn't people in my boat be furious? It's like we're paying for a shitty service.
