This has been complained about before, but they still don't seem to be concerned. It's unfortunate that CR doesn't take users' security as seriously as they should.

Crunchyroll is using HTTPS over at its new site VRV https://vrv.co/ which you have access to since you're a Premium member. I would imagine that CR will upgrade this site to HTTPS eventually.

given the lack of any response whatsoever by CR, it shows how much they care (i.e. not at all)
even the most shady sites on the web care about user security, and that's sad.

edit: surprisingly, CR actually uses https when managing account info.

We encrypt communications where it is necessary, e.g. login, account settings, and payments.

Of course we'd love to switch for site wide encryption, but that will require some more extensive changes, and thus will take more time.
