A lot of love and hate with this from readings people posts.
I watched the whole episode, I didn't stop halfway or anything and I personally didn't enjoy it.

After 15min in or so it was a struggle to watch as I didn't find it entertaining enough or cared for the characters. I also didn't find it that funny, I think I did laugh out loud twice.
Didn't mind the animation though.

The show is fairly interesting to me I usually give new anime shows a 3-4 episodes to see if I'll keep watching it

Ep 1

When is the last time we got one of these? The second season of Asterisk War from a year ago? It genuinely feels like it's been some time since I've watched one of these harem magical school shows and I've got to admit that I enjoyed the first episode. Female school uniforms aside, I found it oddly funny despite being incredibly predictable. Animation, character and sound designs are all on point. I do hope we get to learn about the world a bit since it seems interesting. My "trash" of the season, I'm sure.

Episode 2

And Glenn continues to be a teacher who just isn't interested in teaching, and to make thing simple he says that magic is only used to kill, and as such he hates magic. But even so, he decides to actually teach for a change, and the topic is keywords. And then Glenn gets attacked on the way to school, Rumia is revealed to be a princess who is supposed to be dead, and Sistine is about to get raped until Glenn comes in with a card that nullifies magic. So after a rough first episode, things are at least moving forward in a big way.

Still a bad show.

I can take Glenn only semi seriously and the action felt like really dumb comedy besides the magical content. Not much story development this week either.

Episode 2

Even after the duel Glenn still refuses to teach the class and causes a argument with Sistine about magic being good only for killing. After helping Rumia with a magic circle and talking to her the next day he apologizes and starts teaching the class right. He becomes so popular that other students start listening in on his lecture. On his way to school the next day Glenn gets attacked and two people take Rumia hostage since they know she is a princess. Sistine is taken by one of them but is later saved by Glenn when he comes in and beats the crap outta him.

I like this weeks end card

Happy I decided to watch this as did improve on last week. The uniforms still seem as silly and out of place as show continues, so I really have to question their design. The fanservice elements (whether being lampooned or not) were at least more downplayed and better integrated in an actual plotline, so were far less annoying. The characters on the whole also improved marginally, though I still find them trying. But at least there seems to be developing an actual story.

Anyone laughs at this part?

"Magical Puuunch!"

"That's a kick"

"That's the part that makes it so magical"

well that actually escalated rather quickly. Not sure how i feel about the absolutely predictable turn for the main character. The fact that he was a power fantasy character was telegraphed a mile away, though I figured that because of the end of the first episode that perhaps that wouldn't be what happened but I guess that's just how these shows tend to go.

Nothing groundbreaking here obviously, though nothing to hate really. Ill probably keep watching just for entertainment value. Didn't really expect much given the title of this show, though perhaps later it will surprise me.

If you hated episode 1, give episode 2 a try. This show's a great example of how you should always give a series at least few episodes before you decide you hate it.

I'm not going to go all super-anime-snob like some people here, but I think they did a great job on the anime. The first episode was bad, I didn't like it at all and was extremely close to just dropping the show halfway through. But, that was their plan, to sacrifice the first episode so the second would be absolutely stunning, by comparison, and they did that quite well.

I loved the contrast and development of the characters in such a sort period of time, was it a bit cliche, yeah, but regardless it was still an interesting turn and a wonderful contrast to the first episode. I'll be happily awaiting more of this series, can't wait to see where they decide to take this!

Really liked him teaching about that shock bolt spell. Gives the setting's magic a really solid foundation.

Don't mind the uniforms so long as they don't interact with the rest of the setting. It's mentally trying to incorporate them with the victorian setting that I just can't do.

Luckily, they seem to have abandoned the people, so it probably won't stick out as much.

I am now curious about that random floating Castle now. The show finally stated to pick up.

But those school girl uniforms doe.
