Think on it… how do you think it'd be like?

If it did, I think it should be revolved around Generation 2:

Son Goku (freshmen; age:15): Top school athlete, loveable oaf socially, a native to the Tohoku region of Japan, expert in martial arts, and barely average student (much to his adoptive grandfather's dismay)

Kuririn (sophomore; age:16): Goku's best friend, good-natured but a bit smart-mouthed and socially cautious

Bulma (junior; age:17): Goku's 2nd best friend, tech savvy, a bit of a lovable alpha bitch (she talks down to Yajirobe, Oolong, and sometimes Kuririn but very helpful towards everyone), and top-notch student

Oolong (freshmen; age:15): Pervert and below-average student

Yamcha (junior; age:17): A (wannabe) delinquent but is actually a nice guy, thinks he and Vegeta are rivals but Vegeta doesn't take him seriously in the slightest, has a troubled home, and has a massive crush on Bulma (and later Chi-Chi) but is extremely shy around females due to his older sisters bullying him all the time

Puar (freshmen; age:13): Yamcha's assistant flying blue-cat (tutor) and best friend

Chi-Chi (freshmen; age:15): Tohoku resident, New in town, daddy's little girl, also expert in martial arts, good student, deceivingly quick to anger, tomboyish but tries to be feminine, and crush on Goku (but can't express it well)

Lunch (senior; age:18): A close friend of Bulma's who struggles with multiple personality disorder and the second, more dangerous personality has a crush on Tenshinhan

Piccolo (freshmen; age:2.5): A lone wolf, misunderstood, expert martial artist, and super top-notch student

Vegeta (senior; age:18): A widely feared delinquent, aggressive, beats Yamcha easily every time they fight, envious of Goku, and also has a troubled home

Raditz (senior; age:18): School bully and is friends with Vegeta even though Vegeta doesn't seem to respect him at all due to his cowardly heart

Nappa: The harsh school counselor who gives questionable advice to the students

Lapis (sophomore; age:16): The adventurous and reckless twin brother of Lazuli, also a delinquent, is Vegeta's true rival, and is very protective of his sister

Lazuli (sophomore; age:16): An ice queen, object of Kuririn's affection which she rarely requates, and is extremely close to her twin brother with her being the more level-headed one

Yajirobe (age:16; sophomore): Leader of the kendo club, samurai otaku, big appetite, and is a coward especially around Vegeta

Mr. Satan (age:16; sophomore): Leader of the martial arts club, casanova wannabe, and acts tough (like bragging about being able to beat Vegeta) but is actually a coward especially around Vegeta

Tenshinhan (age:17; junior): One of the school's top-athletes, expert martial artist, stoic, and has a rivalry (furious originally but then friendly) with Goku

Chaozu (age:15; freshmen): Tenshinhan's gym partner and best friend

Crane Master: Tenshinhan's harsh personal coach

Muten Roshi: Perverted Gym teacher

Karin: One of the school teachers and has a no-nonsense attitude especially towards Yajirobe (who he knows has a lot of potential and he really wants him to succeed)

Mr. Popo: School principal

Kami: Superintendent

Are you saying that it wasn't?

Really, it'd probably be pretty terrible.

That sounds like shit, no offence.

Honestly the best way to do a Dragon Ball highschool slice of life story would be to really run with the brief few chapters of that which happened following Gohan's victory over Cell. Honestly, I could certainly have dug the concept. Gohan grows up trying to live a normal life but he finds out there's still danger threatening the people of earth and finds he can't ignore it so he tries to do both with two different identities, adopting the Great Saiyaman persona. You could have a saga of fun Spiderman-esque adventures culminating in a fight against a huge big bad with returns from the other z fighters along the way. It's not the best direction for dragon ball but I sure would have enjoyed that more than the buu saga.

I don't think it would have worked with Goku's generation. It could work as a side story with Gohan's generation. Heck, I found Gohan's high school SoL episodes to be among my favorites in Dragon Ball Z.

Thinking about it a little more, I could see it working in a limited capacity as a comedy. Some the interactions could be gold. If there was something I would change about your suggestion, I would make Mr. Satan a teacher; like one of those teachers who graduated from the same school as a decorated student.

Mr. Satan is about the same age as Krillin so unless he's some academic prodigy (which I seriously doubt) he can't be a teacher in that rout.

Shouldn't Mr Satan also be the president of the Student Council. If we go by logic tearns that the President=Grand Martial Arts champion.

For example, Tien is the leader of the offical martial arts club but Mr Satan made his own martial arts club when he became president and made Tien's "unoffical".
