I ended up feeling rather underwhelmed by this. Not that it didn't have it's moments, but mainly there was just something about the whole premise that irked me. Maybe It's just me taking what is obviously a fluff anime way too seriously. Because from the get go I'm asking myself where will this lead? The girls are obviously not "coexisting" (forcing guys to act like girls) and using unnecessary violence achieve their status quo. So now comes a guy who upsets the status quo, and what- this anime ends with all the girls learning that true happiness comes from 'proper' gender roles? Perhaps I'm wrong, I hope so, but I've seen too many anime where it seemed women could be crazy violent men haters or proper cute girls (and submissive). But there was not much middle ground. Thankfully there are many other anime out there that take a different view.

It's not that deep...

I read the manga and it's just a dumb fun martial arts-comedy series with no real social commentary. And later in the series, it's girls vs. girls too not just guys vs. girls.

Yeah it's a school where all the girls are armed, it's a shallow end of the pool anime.

Set up is a little rediculous but I like it (Random Bear?)

Empress seems like the key factor. She knows him, she named the attack he himself has not named, and hearing that name seemed to flip a panic switch.

I'm guessing she put him in the hospital and was behind the 40 guys he beat up. That would make her one of the delinquents sent to this school...she might be a guy

Ep 1

Stupid fun seems to be the general consensus here and I am certainly in agreement. Throwing a badass but not totally overpowered protagonist into the mix makes the silliness was a good choice. The action scenes were pretty good, and I really like the designs on all of the Supreme Five Swords. I'm not really sure what direction the show intends to take, but as long as the action and fluff remains of the quality of the first episode, I'm sure to enjoy it.

So this is pretty much Prison School but with more sword fighting and less fanservice. Works for me.

I liked this episode. The character designs are interesting. The fighting was entertaining. The hints at deeper things than just what we see on the surface of these characters is promising. And most of all, I just really enjoyed the MC's voice acting. Looks like he was Ikoma in Kabaneri whom I also liked a lot. I really could have done without the cringe-worthy accidental kiss, but overall the fanservice aspect was very tolerable. Definitely keeping this one for now.

Well apparently after beating her and stealing her first kiss flattery will get you everywhere with Rin haha. As expected the non sword girls are useless. It'll be fun seeing who finally takes this cocky bastard down.

Yet another entertaining episode. It certainly tries to set itself apart from similar shows that share the same premise and strives to become something more enjoyable

Episode 2

Nomura gets ever so deeper in the girls doghouse. Now he needs to get permission from the big five and that isn't going to be easy with the reputation he has. So he goes off and battles Choka and Nono, who caught him apparently getting all touchy feely with Rin, and while those two are formidable fighters, they just don't work well as a team, especially since U. Choka chose a weapon that's only good for torture and not actual combat. While he got Rin's stamp, it comes with a catch where she's watching his every move. Well, that was entertaining, but at the same time those cliches are just ill-timed and irritating.

Episode 3

This time, it's Mary's turn to face off against Nomura, and unfortunately for him her style is to pierce rather than slash as his gauntlets, which is bad news as they are not built to withstand piercing attacks. Some interesting backstory is there between Nomura and Amou as Amou is a lot more girly today than she was when she beat Nomura to a pulp. Anyway, Nomura found a way to win by using that thick manga book to deflect a blow and get in close range for the win, all while he avoided groping her to get the stamp. That was a pretty lame fight, especially with Nomura forgetting to put on his undies, but at least the stuff between Nomura and Amou is interesting.
