One of my most anticipated anime from this season (not including sequels), I enjoyed the first episode. Hoping that it only goes up from here.

As one of the few series this season that I was actively looking forward to, I have to say that this debut episode totally hit it out of the park. I loved pretty much everything about it and was laughing almost the entire episode. Great start.

I'm guessing that this anime will really resonate with a lot of depopulated towns (not just in Japan, but in numerous countries). Seems like it will be a slice of life and comedy blend; which is right up my alley. Hoping to learn a few things, as well as meet more of the townsfolk.

Poor Koharu though. That's a lot of job rejections. I wonder what she majored in.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this show, other than it being a likely successor to Shirobako. Can't say I'm disappointed by the result so far. The memory bit feels a little handwavey, but otherwise the layers to the cast are already evident. And that chupacabra scene had me rolling.

As someone not living in Japan and an American, why the hell should I care about this anime at all? That sounds boooooooooooooooooooooooooring and not for an international audience in the least. And we may not even understand this at all anyways?

No wonder I heard so many rumors in the interwebs on this show? Real issues eh? I watch anime to be entertained and spark my brain of neat things, not be shoved First World Problems down my throat. End rant.

Did you actually watch the anime or are you just spouting off about the concept? Great art draws from life, this show uses the real-life basis to a great start. Not every anime has to be about action figures punching each other or panty shots.

Also, depopulation and flagging tourism driven towns are very much a thing that occurs in the US. The whole chupacabra thing is easily mirrored by any number of small mid-western towns with a road side attraction or corn palace.

Is it just me or is Crunchyroll's translators/subbers/QC really slacking of lately?

I mean go ahead and do your liberties of translation like you always do, but if you think "寒い/Samui" can be translated into "Wow." then you have another thing coming...

Crunchyroll's subs seem to be degrading at a great degree...

I noticed this too, and it also bugged me.

Anyway, a fun start. Looking forward to next episodes.

I would like to say that I did enjoy this series but I am unsure if I will continue watching it. The first episode for me took its time to grab my attention and I’m glad I didn’t stop half way because by the end my feelings towards this series changed.

The animation it self was the typical P.A Works but didn’t have that crisp to it, like some other series I have seen with them. I loved Yoshino’s character design mind.

Maybe this show has ended up as the new job for whoever it was that stomped all over the Gabriel Dropout translation from last season. *shudder*

Ep 1

Wow! This one really surprised me in a great way. It's refreshing to have an adult MC that is both likeable and relatable. Light bits of humor and slice of life were done really well, and the subject matter is interesting. Obviously the animation is great as well. The last couple minutes in particular had me absolutely hooked, when Koharu realized that she her favorite memory from her past took place in this town she was fatefully brought back to. I've got high expectations now. Easily among my favorite premieres so far this season.

Episode 2

Yoshino's first job as the queen is to sell a lot of manju, but that's no easy task seeing that this is a village nobody knows all about. So they try creating a web page, and then a video of Yoshino slaying the chupacabra that Maki is acting as, but that only drew one customer in. Yoshino failed, but she's in it for the long haul after hearing that Sanae was from the city and got bored of life in Tokyo.

Episode 1

In order to go back to Tokyo Koharu makes a deal with the former king to sell 1000 box of manju. In order to do that she asks Kouzuki to make a new website but that doesn't help. The next best thing is to make a video and that's where Ririko comes in as she has the equipment. The video still doesn't help as they only sold one box and Koharu will stay for the meantime.
