Its tough to change an attitude or way of thinking/culture if the town thinks only a matter of time before it fades then its going to happen. Long uphill road with the you group of women interested to see how they can evoke change in the frame of minds of town folk.

Well, they have 26 episodes to fill LOL. As long as the slice of life story and humor are good I will keep enjoying this show.

The old guy has commitment, that's for sure.

It feels like all the main characters are teetering, like the town. I'm enjoying it so far.

After the manju episode I was about to dump this one -- I hated everything about that episode. But, considering that I did like Episode 1, I decided it was worth at least the 3-episode trial.

I did like this more recent episode more, even though it also made me cringe (not in a good way) in spots. So, it's not dropped yet. But eeks, did I see someone say 26 episodes. I dunno, that sounds like it could drag things out a bit much. On the other hand, so much has been set up, and so little has actually happened in terms of moving the story forward in three episodes, that I think 13 episodes would not be enough to achieve a satisfying ending.

So, right now I'm in wait and see mode.

Ep 3

This show just resonates with me in a way I can't really describe. I, for one, am glad to see that it is confirmed for 25(or 26?) episodes. The pacing is slow but I would never expect great change to come to a town like this in just a few days, so I'm hoping that the double cour allows the series to build up to something satisfying.

Anyway, good episode. It's disheartening to see the residents so lacking in enthusiasm about the town they live in, but it is much easier to just sit back and go with the flow than it is to actively make a change in the community. Koharu delivered an excellent and moving speech at the end too. Maybe a little fresh insight is the ingredient that the town is missing at the moment. It's great to see her finally motivated and willing to assume her role as Queen. Still a lot of work to do though.

Episode 4

Now, Yoshino comes up with an idea to use a wood carving district to promote tourism. Problem is that wood-carving isn't exactly a popular industry. But with the lack of good ides that they put their WCD into motion. That robot gave Yoshino the idea to integrate technology into everyday life, but at the moment it just isn't practical. They tried using a super-fancy vending machine, but that idea fizzled. Pretty much, Yoshino's ideas of promoting wood carving end up getting all shot down. There are some things that just aren't meant to change as Yoshino would go on to find out.

Nice to get a Sanae focused episode so soon. It may be a slower paced series than some people like but to me every episode has been golden so far and I've laughed out loud at more moments already than I have in most full series. The characters are all familiar yet have their own believable quirks and, if Sanae is any indication, have some real depth to them as well. Great stuff.

Oh, and:

I mean, I know it's (probably) not what it looks like but I can dream, right?

I loved that we got a Sanae-focused episode so soon because she's my best girl of the show.

Also, until this episode I didn't notice just how long her legs are/how tall she is. I mean look at this!

They stretch to infinity, yo.
