Never really got into Naruto, but I decided to try this anyway. I thought it was pretty good. Fairly accessible for new viewers too, though that will probably change later on.

I'm glad they're not recapping the movie like the manga did. Although they kept that scene in the beginning which I don't like. There's no way Naruto was defeated because that sorta implies Sasuke was also defeated which just isn't plausible lol. Sasuke must've used izanami on himself and Naruto somehow for the vilage to be destroyed like that, either that or Himawari just got super pissed
Looks promising so far, the music was nice too. I also liked how Shikadai has the same voice actor as Tanaka-kun, very fitting

I like the feel of this new Naruto series. I just feel bad for Boruto and a little mad that Naruto doesn't have a better relationship with his son. Minato was never their because he died so I would imagine Naruto would want to be in his son's life in a positive way bacause of this.

I just can't anything called Boruto seriously. Unless it comes with cheese. I wouldn't mind a Boruto with cheese right about now though. I guess next they can go with Doruto. Hmm, some Doruto's and a pepsi sound pretty good too.

TL;DR I'm really liking Boruto so far.

I noticed that when the series was first announced, a lot of people had really low expectations of it, but I'm glad that what little we've seen so far has been better than anticipated. I was a huge fan of Naruto when I was growing up, but the old, original series feels a bit childish and cringey now that I look at it from an adult perspective. But with Boruto... It feels a lot different, in a good way. It's like the series has grown up with its viewers. Maybe it just has higher-quality writing and better characterization. Kishimoto-sensei did say he wanted to make the Boruto series superior to the Naruto series, and so far he seems to be headed in the right direction.

Another entertaining and fun episode for Boruto this week. The series really makes a point that it wants to establish itself as a standalone show to its predecessor Naruto

Pretty good episode I think. Interesting to find out about the relations between the second generation kids, it seems like they all grew up together whether they wanted to or not. Different than the original series I think, as is Boruto having to prove he's not just some spoiled kid. The guy Boruto fought seemed interesting too, looking forward to seeing more from him.

I am curious why Naruto's father never seemed to affect how people treated him. At least not in the early series, which was as far as I ever got. Was his identity just not common knowledge or what?

Great episode, better than last week's. I'm glad all the next gen kids grew up together, but it seems like they don't always get along, such as Boruto essentially having to earn Inojin's respect.

I'm glad that ChoCho is getting quite a bit of screentime; I've always really liked her and I was disappointed she didn't get any lines in the Boruto movie.

Calling it right now, purple haired chick in the sailor fuku is Hinata 2.0.

I'm really looking forward to next week's episode, because the title makes it sound like it will focus on Rock Lee's son, Metal Lee. I was obsessed with Rock Lee when I was a kid! Maybe we'll finally learn who Metal Lee's mother is... It's doubtful but I hope that info will be revealed eventually.

But something I've been wondering since the Boruto movie came out is, why are Naruto and Shikamaru, and by extension Boruto and Shikadai, so close? If I remember correctly, in the original series Shikamaru and Naruto didn't really have much to do with each other. Did I miss some plot point where Shikamaru and Naruto became besties (which is possible since I didn't watch/read the whole series) or did they just make Shikamaru the Hokage's adviser simply because he was a fan favorite?

Well Shikamaru is the logical choice in their generation to be the advisor or second in command.

Anyway, even though this Next Generation seem to be fun now and targeted for the new generation of fans , however for old timer like me who has followed Naruto since the beginning, I cant help but feel anxious watching this series. It pretty much has the same recipe as the Naruto series and the progression of the story is going to be serious and then.. not saying more . So I actually wanted the Naruto series to end in a good note with a few movies here and there.

Well I do understand why they must to continue the franchise, but I will hold off watching this one for a while.

and Naruto as a dad, well remember he never had one growing up, so its difficult to be one when you don't have one to really learn from. All he learned is from the Hokage, Iruka sensei , Kakashi sensei and Ero sanin

But about the timeline.
Naruto must be around his early 30's that he became the Hokage, was prepped as the Hokage for 12-13 years and that Boruto must have the same age as Naruto as he entered Ninja academy , so maybe 12-13 yrs old

We don't even know if Rock Lee is his son, has that been confirmed?, he could be just a mentor the kid greatly admires, just like Guy Sensei was to him.

I just realized if Boruto also runs for 15 years like Naruto did. I'll have started the series at 13 years old, Shippuden started when I was 17, Shippuden just ended I'm 27 and when Boruto ends I'd be 42........Good times...

Never even thought of that, but you could be right. It would actually make more sense that way, considering the proud youthful mentor-student relationship of of Guy Sensei and Rock Lee. I was just going off the info I found on the Naruto Wiki - which referred to Metal as Lee's son last time I checked. I know wikis can be unreliable though so take it with a grain of salt. Heck, the Naruto wiki mentions Lee as being part of the "Lee Clan" - is that even an actual thing in the Naruto universe or are people just messing around?

Seeing the destroyed city and hearing "the age of the ninja is over" in the first minute, killed any nascent interest.
